This is the absolute best dental experience I have had since I moved to Tampa. I’ve been to three separate practices and no one could, or was willing to do what I needed done without trying to push other options on me. I made an appointment with “Affordable Dentures and Implants” for reline services and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and the reline services were done the same day! Wow! Dr. Hackney and his entire staff (front office, lab and practice manager) were courteous, caring, kind, and professional. They listened to my concerns and offered options without pushing or rushing. They valued my time and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I highly recommend them if you are in need the many services they offer and provide. Thank you to everyone at Affordable Dentures and Implants!

I absolutely love how I was handled with such care, coming from someone who is freaked out by dentist. From the Dr to the nursing staff everyone was very welcoming and gave amazing customer service. My procedure was quick and quite painless for the most part. Highly recommend!!

⭐ Patient Review – Affordable Dentures & Implants (Tampa, FL). Thursday 18, morning December, 2025. Rating: 1 star I had a very negative and upsetting experience at Affordable Dentures & Implants in Tampa on Thursday. When I entered the lobby, there were three front desk employees sitting at the desk. All three were watching and listening to me while pretending to work on their computers. I politely asked the first receptionist if it would be possible to speak with any available dentist for one minute before deciding whether to become a patient. Instead of answering my question, she immediately asked for my date of birth. I provided it and then asked why that information was needed if I was not yet a patient. Her response was, “Then why do you need our doctor?” I calmly explained that I wanted to briefly speak with a dentist before filling out paperwork and committing to treatment. The receptionist insisted that I explain my private dental issue at the front desk, where there was no privacy at all. I explained that it was a private matter and that I only needed one minute with a doctor. At that point, all three front desk employees intruded into the conversation and firmly told me that it was “impossible” to speak with a dentist unless I first filled out all paperwork, paid for the visit, spoke with a dental technician or assistant, and only then would I possibly be allowed to ask the dentist one question. At that moment, a dentist came to the front desk and asked, “Yes… who wanted to see me?” Before I could say anything, one of the front desk employees (a young woman with dark hair) jumped up, grabbed the dentist by the elbow, and physically pulled him away from the front desk so I could not speak to him — even though he was already standing near me and appeared willing to talk. This behavior was shocking and completely opposite to patient-centered care. A patient has the right to ask questions, the right to refuse paperwork, payment, or treatment, and the right to decide whether to become a patient without pressure or coercion. Unfortunately, the front desk staff showed no awareness or respect for these basic patient rights! Instead of being treated with compassion as a potential patient with an urgent dental concern right before the Christmas holidays, I was ignored, dismissed, and humiliated. I was given an ultimatum: fill out paperwork, pay, speak to staff — before being allowed ( granted the permission) to ask even one simple question to a dentist. I left the office devastated, in tears, feeling completely neglected and disrespected, not knowing where to turn next especially the time right before extended Christmas holidays! This experience affected me deeply. Fortunately, I went to another dental office immediately afterward, where I was welcomed kindly and allowed to speak directly with a dentist without pressure, paperwork, or payment upfront. The contrast was shocking. It truly showed how much a patient’s experience — and emotional well-being — depends on the culture of the office they walk into. I would not recommend this location to anyone who values compassion, professionalism, patient-centered care, and respect for patient autonomy. ⚖️ Next, I’m going to write a formal complaint version (Florida Board / corporate office).
