In the past I would have given this dental clinic at least 4 stars, but that was before my latest visit. I had scheduled an exam and cleaning. Before the x-rays a hygienist came in and quickly applied a polish to my teeth. This really made no sense since the polish usually goes on after the cleaning. I didn't think that much of it as I figured she knew her job. After the x-ray the dentist came in for maybe 5 minutes, no cavities, always good to know. He said that I needed a "deep cleaning" and this is where things began their down hill slide. Re-enter the hygienist/ used car salesman. The upselling began. I understand that I have some problems due to a drug a had to take by the name of colchicine (nasty stuff). Hygienist went to get an estimate. Took around 15 minutes. I'm left wondering when and if they are ever going to do the regular cleaning that dentists do. She finally comes back and hands me an estimate (over a thousand dollars) and proceeds to explain that it can be done over 4 visits as we have 4 quadrant to our mouths. Well isn't that generous of them. I can can back 4 separate times to have my mouth numbed up and time away from work. But it gets better, she then upsells the original upsell by telling me that my gums will be swollen and split but for another $50 they can close the gaps w/ a laser. She goes on to explain that is a good idea as it will help prevent infection. So they want to put my mouth through heck, possibly on 4 different occasions, charge me over a thousand dollars and then tell me that for more money they will do something to help prevent infection. Then she gets pushy as to when do I want to get things scheduled. I obviously didn't schedule and that's for 3 reasons: 1. I hate places that are constantly upselling. This " deep cleaning" is the type of cleaning that dentists used to do but didn't charge you over a thousand dollars, 2. The fact that they wouldn't do a normal cleaning. Hygienist told me as she escorted me to the front desk that they won't do a regular cleaning if you need the "deep cleaning " That to me feels scammy and scuzzy, 3. Then the upselling on the upselling. If a person is going to pay over a thousand dollars then that "special" $50 laser should darn well be included. I'm going to add that the idea of infection is very disturbing to me as I can't physically take antibiotics due to allergies. So if I were to do this I would be forced to agree to the additional upsell. Sigh...I miss the days when the medical profession (dental is part of this) wasn't just a money making machine. I had the best dentist growing up and into my early adulthood. He would be ashamed of what the profession has become. I honestly believe this is why so many people don't go to see the dentist, or any medical professionals, until there is something really very wrong. Stop upselling and people would actually come in for normal checkups and preventive appointments.

This is the Best dental office in Pahrump.The Doctor and Staff are Great. When you go there you're taken care of in a timely and orderly manner and the staff is Professional and welcoming making you feel comfortable.The Doctor explains what he is going to do and is very personable which makes you feel comfortable with the precidure. I have always nothing but a Good experience here and Highly recommend Affordable Dental with the Best Doctor and Staff in Pahrump !

Best dentist ever. Dr. Yim and his assistant Nancy were wonderful. Dr, Yim was compassionate, gentle and painless. I had two molars pulled and it maybe took 10 minutes at the most to pull them out. No pain whatsoever. Highly recommend if you are afraid of going to the dentist. He will completely put your fears at ease His assistant Nancy was just as wonderful. Explained everything the doctor was going to do and made me feel very relaxed. Best experience ever at a dentist's office.
