I have been a patient at Alaska Center for Dentistry for several years. Dr Odin and his staff are very professional and kind. I recommend them to people who have dental needs. You won’t be disappointed.

Hands down the worst experience of any dental office I’ve ever been to. Do not waste your time coming to this office if you have dental anxiety. I shared that I have anxiety with the whole staff and was told they would be able to accommodate that and work with many patients with dental anxiety. Initial exam with Dr. Oudin was scheduled prior to my cleaning and went fine. The day of my cleaning appointment was not good. Upon arrival a hygienist took me to the room and I requested music, she said she would be back with a portable music player. I usually bring my own headphones but had forgotten that day. When I was given my nitrous the hygienist placed the mask over my face while I was sitting upright and told me she needed to tie the cords together and yanked my head back. I immediately sat forward and requested they lean the chair back so that gravity held it there. I have never had anyone “tie the cords behind the chair” and restrain my head at any office and have gotten nitrous since I was young. The hygienist came in and didn’t introduce herself and say a word and started shoving tools into my mouth with zero communication. I turned my head and asked if she could introduce herself and if throughout my appointment she could please communicate with me about what she was doing and request for me to open and close my mouth, as is typical with dental cleanings. She was curt and rough. She didn’t accommodate my request for communication. I had been waiting for this appointment for six months, I had a cleaning scheduled three months prior and it was rescheduled due to my hygienist being sick that day. I decided that since I had to wait so long I’d stick it out. At the end of the cleaning she asked what flavor polish I would like, I told her that I was allergic to fluoride and would need a fluoride free polish. She offered me a polish with flouride and said “there’s not that much flouride in it and it should be fine”. I adamantly told her I had an allergy and to please refer to my charts notes as I had told the entire staff about my allergy. After the polish she then offered me a flouride treatment. I told her again, I have an allergy are you not checking the chart notes for patient allergies before working on them? When I went to the front desk, the woman there asked me how everything went. I said “Not good, I have dental anxiety and shared that with your staff and I didn’t feel as though anyone worked with my medical condition. I shared that I was offered a product with an allergen in it, twice. I also mentioned I was told I could listen to music during the appointment and no one provided any. She profusely apologized and said no patient should feel that way. She admitted she had seen the music player sitting on a counter and had put it away thinking someone forgot to put it away after use. I needed to get a mouth guard for my TMJ/Bruxism and was told they would send off the imaging and I would receive a call in two weeks to pick it up. I said that I would pick up my appliance and then be going back to my old dentist for further care as I wasn’t happy with today’s experience. Three days later I received a phone call from an administrator telling that the owner of the practice, Dr Oudin wasn’t comfortable with me being a patient again. I explained my story and said I really needed to get my hardware as it is medically required hardware for a medical condition that was already preapproved by my insurance. I was told that she would ask the dentist if they could complete the night guard and that I would receive a call back. Two weeks pass, I have tried calling daily. Left several voicemails about my night guard. I received a letter from the practice will attach photo below. I had my husband call the practice from his number and they immediately answered and said they wouldn’t help me under any circumstances. If I had of lied when asked how did it go, I would have still received the piece of medically necessary hardware I need. Dr. Oudin does not value holding staff to account or making patients comfortable

I recently moved here and needed a new dentist. This was my first visit to have two old leaking fillings repaired. No waiting for my designated appointment time nor delays of any type. The procedures went very well and were unusually "low stressed" for me (I am a baby when it comes to sitting in a dental chair). I'm very happy I picked this team as my new dental provider.

My first time going here is when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. I have always been very nervous/anxious about seeing a dentist, let alone having four wisdom teeth pulled. I was amazed at how well the entire visit went. No swelling, next to no pain the following days. After that, I decided to make this my primary dentist office. I’ve been going here for about 7 years now and have not had one bad experience. Everyone is always welcoming, polite, and always get the job done with no issues. Dr. Oudin and his crew are great.
