Powered by GoogleI cannot say enough greatness about Dr Kelly in providing his care, compassion, follow up, professionalism, understanding, and the absolute successfulness he provided to my husband. My husband was admitted to ICU Theda Care hospital by ambulance. He was in there 10 days with a blood infection. X-rays, blood tests, blood cultures, scans, fecal tests, CT tests, GI panels,MANY antibiotics through IV's, trying to determine where the infection was coming from. One of the specialist mentioned that this strain of infection is often seen with colorectal cancer. That's still needs to be determined by a colonoscopy and EGD. As my husband has a mechanical heart valve, everything was high priority and intense. It was explained that it could be an infection coming from a tooth. X-rays were done twice of his head, jaw, teeth. It was detected by Dr. Kelly that he had tooth/teeth problems. My husband had to get 8 teeth removed, 2 were abcessed, 2 were broken, and my husband stated he didn't have pain. The last time he went to the dentist, he told him that he had a sensitive tooth. The dentist said that when it becomes an issue it would be dealt with then. Dr. Kelly came in to the hospital on a weekend, extracted 8 molars, and his follow up was unimaginable! He was there daily checking on my husband, informing and demonstrating the nurses how to care for him during the days ahead. He was receptive to all my phone calls, called me back to answer my MANY questions and unbelievable in the way he was entirely concerned and caring about my husband, my questions and everything having to do with the healing process. 2 days after my husband was released from the hospital, he began profusely bleeding from the teeth extractions. Nothing would stop it. Our bed, my husband, walls, waste baskets were full of blood. It looked like a murder crime scene. AFTER HOURS I called AppleCreek Oral Surgery. Dr. Kelly returned my call within minutes! He prescribed a medication for the bleeding. Sadly, no pharmacy had it and many had closed already. Called him back, he was checking to find a 24 hour pharmacy and prescribed another option for his bleeding. We went to pick it up, meanwhile still bleeding continously. It worked! It was a swish and spit prescription and we owe my husband's life to Dr. Kelly. Really! My husband would have bleed to death! We owe our lives to Dr. Kelly!!!
I give them 1 star for my children not getting an infection or having any issues with the procedure. Now the financial end of them is a shear disaster!! So I was required to pay 20% of cost the day of the procedure because they were not able to verify it deductible had been met. Remind you both my children were done the same day so 20% × 2 $3,400.00. No problem, as soon as insurance is run I will be refunded is what I was told. THAT WAS MAY 3RD, 2025, fast forward to July, I call, nope still waiting on insurance?? Told to call back in August!! (Feel free to just play with my $3,400.00 it's ok - I don't have bills to pay!) Call on August 4th "check is top of the pile to be signed will go out in mail today or tomorrow" I was told! Annnnmd here we are August 14, still no check, so I call..."oh, yes, got a little behind and your check went in the mail today at 7:30am!" I am 100% not banking on a check getting here before September!! Clearly $3,400 is not a big deal when you are an oral surgeon, however for the rest of the small people in the world...it is!! So do better!!
I just got done getting all four wisdom teeth removed; I was super scared about the IV they give you for Anastasia, but let me tell you. They make it as painless as possible, I'm telling you, I may have felt a little pinch for not even a full second, and everything was gone. About a few minutes after that, I was out and then woke up all ready to go, The staff was very friendly and ensured I was good. Would highly recommend this place! Dr.Kelly was great and everyone else there was great too! I have a terrible memory when it comes to names, but I can tell you that they are good at making you feel comforatable.
Had a great experience today. Had A last minute need arise and they were able to get me on that day. Friendly progressional and courteous. I'll be back!
Prior to a procedure you need to send out reminders to patients regarding pre-op instructions like Most facilities do for there patients. My 91y/o mother inlaw was completely numbed up , then was asked if she stopped a medication prior to her procedure. Do know numbing can be worse than the procedure itself. Since she didn't stop her med, she was sent home. Now your unable to get her in for 4 more months.
