I highly recommend Astoria for dental work. A member of my family had an abscessed tooth and was desperate to see a dentist as soon as possible, but was not established with a dentist. When I saw Dr. Haddad’s name on the list of providers covered by our insurance, it dawned on me that she was the dentist who took such wonderful care of my mother when she had major dental work a year prior. I was taken care of by everyone at Astoria from the moment the receptionist, Philina, answered the phone. She took our information and gave us an appointment one week out. A moment later, when she asked which tooth was the problem and I had an opportunity to explain the symptoms of infection and the potential abscess, she immediately changed the appointment to the first available, which was so great! I was so happy and relieved when I hung up the phone, but still concerned about the infection as the appointment was still two days away. I was moments away from taking my family member to Urgent Care to get antibiotics for the infection, when Philina called me back and said she had discussed the case with Dr. Haddad who wanted to see the patient right away. She prescribed antibiotics that very same day, even though she didn’t have the time to perform any dental work. Philina really listened and she cared enough to bring the symptoms to the attention of Dr. Haddad, who also cared enough to begin treatment with medication right away. Needless to say, when it was time for my own dental work, I chose Dr. Haddad. She is skilled, knowledgeable, gentle and careful. For example, she asked if my bite felt normal after working on a tooth. I felt as best as I could and said ‘yes.’ She said “I know you’re numb, so it’s a little difficult to tell, but I want you to take a moment, close your eyes and really feel if your bite is off or if it feels normal.” Dr. Haddad, her assistants and Philina REALLY CARE for their patients. I highly recommend Astoria dental. I have seen some negative reviews about Astoria in regard to the denturist/dentures. I cannot speak to that as my experiences did not include dentures or dentures work. But if you are looking for a great dentist supported by an amazing team of people, go to Astoria and see Dr. Haddad.
