Tracey Thomas, supposedly the director of member services, is the most unprofessional and rude representative I have ever had to deal with. I asked for a refund a week ago and have been given the run around ever since, despite calling multiple times for her to “not be in office” Today (9-17-2025), I’m finally able to reach her and ask why i haven’t been able to receive a response regarding my refund, Tracey slams the phone down and states “ I will let you continue to rattle “ while we were discussing such. I will be filing a BBB complaint as well. She’s made my experience with Avia BEYOND unpleasant and respectfully she should be out of a job. Would not recommend Avia to anyone.
I am very impressed with Avia. The first time I used it, I paid $150 for a cleaning, exam and panoramic Xrays for both myself and my daughter. The regular price for these services would have been $500. Also, when I call a person actually answers the phone and answers the question!! No menus to pick from and no transferring to another department. Unfortunately I feel like I need to amend this review. Don’t get me wrong I still have Avia and I still think it is a great deal. But a couple of years ago I was disappointed with my Avia service. My dentist charged me an amount higher than the Avia fee schedule. I called Avia and they agreed that I was overcharged. They said they would contact my dentist. After they spoke to the office manager, they changed their story and said bill was correct! They told me I would have to handle this issue on my own. There is a fee schedule and I was charged a higher amount. How can charge be correct if it didn’t match the fee schedule? I did work it out on my own. Bottom line is they promised to intercede on my behalf, but then threw me under the bus.

Avia has really been beneficial to us. I didn’t have any dental insurance for 2 years, but the great discount that we get through Avia has allowed me to have my 2 dental checkups a year affordably. My husband goes to a periodontist twice a year. Insurance doesn’t cover it. Because I have Avia, they give us a 25% curtesy discount. Avia saves me more than insurance does. I have insurance now, but I still want My Avia!!!
I haven't had dental insurance for a while so I searched online for some kind of coverage and found Avia. I was very skeptical of it because it was so affordable. Around $7 a month at the time if I'm not mistaken. After my first visit to my dentist my suspicions were laid to rest. There were many dentists in my area that accepted Avia and I suspect that list has grown. Several years later and my Avia coverage is still only just above $8 a month. It is a great plan and does help with dental expenses! You can trust them. As far as a previous review I read about armature customer service....I don't see it at all but you do catch more flies with honey if you know what I mean ; )
