I’d give less than 1 star if I could. This practice was great when it was Dr Hirsch. He was thiorough and no non-sense. It’s changed hands multiple times since his retirement and is substandard at this point. I had an appointment 6 months ago and felt like I should probably change but foolishly made an appointment that I kept. The “hygienist” while kind was so young and inexperienced that it’s unclear whether she was qualified. I was in for a standard checkup and cleaning. I was given a polishing, flossing, cleaning and X-rays in that order which were all rushed and seemingly inefficient. There were 3 appointments going on at the same time. The end result is that hours later my teeth hurt, after a simple cleaning. Been going to a dentist regularly for decades and have never had this experience. Don’t typically write reviews but believe this experience to be so awful that I need to let others know.
This practice has changed hands since my family and I had gone there for 15+ years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been terrible. I went in for a crown in early November 2025. They have done a horrible job. My temporary crown fell off first. Then, I had to return twice for them to get the height of the crown done correctly. Now, I need a root canal in the same tooth. I have left several messages for the Operations Manager, Mayur Tailor since 11/10/25. However, he will not return my phone call. The receptionist has said that he has tried to contact me, but I have no text or voicemails on my phone. Stay away!!!
Amazing office with very kind and professional dentist and staff. The appointment went very smoothly, the dentist took very good care of me and did a thorough exam and cleaning. Extremely impressed!
I had an appointment with Dr. Shah yesterday to get my teeth cleaned. The Dr checked my teeth and asked me if I wanted to get implants. I told him that because I had recently been operated for lung cancer, I was not in the market for implants but would like to get my teeth cleaned as per my appointment. The dental hygienist came and started polishing my teeth. I asked her why my teeth are not being cleaned. Her answer to me was the Dr cleaned it. The Dr spent 3 minutes with me and the hygienist spent 9 minutes. I was in at 3:00 pm and out by 3:12 pm! Has anyone had their teeth cleaned in 12 minutes? I used to be Dr Hirsch’s patient. Since the practice was taken over by the new group it has become unprofessional! Dr. Hirsch is very professional and thorough. He sweats the details. All my dental work was done painlessly and giving importance to my comfort.
Stay away from Dr Shaw at Bartlett Implants and Karing Dental in Wood Dale. Worst dentist l have ever been too. You can hear his staff talking about you loudly in the office. His assistant was typing notes in the computer in my room about another patient and reading it out loud while typing. BTW that patient's crown didn't fit either. Was told I was a complainer. That I needed a specialist after they failed twice to get my crowns to fit correctly. It wasn't their fault that the crowns I started to get done in December are still not right, they were only trying to help after the other two dentists failed they said. But it is Dr Shahs name on the door. Dr Shah was rude and consending. He broke my temporary crown last visit when he couldn't get it off. He sent me home and told me to chew gum for two weeks. What is up with that? The crown he tried to remove broke an hour after i left the Bartlett office. Took two weeks to get a new appointment and had to go to the Woodale Karing Dentist to get an appointment. Dr Shah said the new crowns didn't fit either and he couldn't help me. He put in a hasty temp. It is awful. He were going to refer me to a specialist but really didn't have one. He told his staff to google one for me. I said forget it. I wouldn't go to someone they recommended anyway. They will say I was upset and yelling and I was. But they need to know they were taking about me and I heard every word they said. Their office echoes. Yes I admit I was upset and yelling. But after 7 months of total incompetence what do they expect? I have made numerous visits. They have taken impressions 3 times. Had to make repeated calls. They never return messages and say the same thing each time. They had trouble with their system. Had a different dentist almost every time I went. They have no clue what they are doing. Again after so many wonderful years with Dr Hirsch so sad to have this practice in his place. I took my crowns and left. Looking for a new dentist as I write this.
