I’m writing this review after a disappointing experience surrounding my recent wisdom tooth removal appointment at Bell Harbour Dental. I want to be very transparent so future patients know what to expect. I had an appointment scheduled for a wisdom tooth extraction, but at no point before the procedure did anyone send me the treatment plan, insurance breakdown, pre-op instructions, or any details about what to expect. I received no communication — not five days before, not the day before, not even a reminder with the required prep steps. When I called the clinic on the day of the appointment to ask for the treatment plan, the staff acknowledged they had missed sending it. Despite admitting the oversight, they still insisted on charging me a $75 no-show fee, even though my request was simply to reschedule and receive the treatment plan properly this time. I actually wanted to continue with them — I wasn’t trying to avoid the appointment — but instead of taking accountability, the front desk staff were rigid and seemed more focused on enforcing fees than supporting a patient who never received the necessary information. Unfortunately, this is not the first issue I’ve had with the non-doctor staff here. On previous visits, especially for my cleaning, the hygienist seemed very casual and unprofessional. She was cracking jokes with colleagues and chatting during my cleaning while I was lying there with my mouth numb and uncomfortable. It didn’t feel like they took patient care seriously, especially considering how much they charge. The only positive I can highlight is Dr. Domova. She is excellent , very knowledgeable, articulate, and genuinely cares about her patients. She explains everything clearly and makes you feel heard. It’s unfortunate that the quality of care and professionalism outside of her does not match her standard. Overall, my experience with the administrative and support staff felt disorganized, unprofessional, and profit-driven, with little transparency for patients. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously, because with better communication and more professional staff, experiences like mine could be avoided.
From moving a lot from city to city and having various dental issues, I’ve had a fair share of dentists throughout my years, but Dr. Dimova is a JEWEL. She moves with subtle speed, her steady hands give quick & painless Novocain shots, and gets the job done seamlessly. Simultaneously, she has an uplifting spirit day in and day out… never seen her any other way. No question in my mind, I highly recommend Dr. Dimova. Also, have to give a shout out to Kelea (Dental Assistant) & Mya (Hygienist) for being cool, calm and focused… and also laughing at my jokes. Front desk is a rotating slough of professionals, courteous, and easy going individuals 👏🏼👏🏼🤟🏼
The dentist is great, but the office operates in complete chaos. I was charged based on the wrong treatment plan created by staff, paid my balance in full, and months later began getting nonstop texts and emails demanding more payment for their mistake — honestly, they’ve contacted me more than a crazy ex. Despite multiple requests, Nicole refused to escalate my concern, and when I was finally connected to the manager, Boma, she claimed the owner agreed I was responsible for their error. It’s unprofessional, disruptive, and completely lacking accountability. They seem to run the place ad hoc with no rhyme or reason. Sad to say I won’t be back — read recent reviews and watch out for surprise balances.
