I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ben Porras and the entire team at Big Wave Endodontics in Myrtle Beach! I came in with 10/10 tooth pain—literally one of the worst pains- and I left virtually pain-free. Dr. Porras is incredibly professional, took the time to explain every step of the procedure thoroughly so I knew exactly what was happening, and performed the root canal completely pain-free. I was genuinely amazed at how comfortable the whole process was. The staff is outstanding—every single person I interacted with was friendly, efficient, and caring. Special shoutout to Chelsea, who was an absolute delight: professional, warm, and genuinely compassionate from the moment we met. The practice itself is immaculate—spotlessly clean, perfectly organized, and modern. The decor is super cool and actually relaxing (which I didn’t even know was possible at an endodontist’s office!). If you need endodontic care, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Porras and the Big Wave team. Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental specialist. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you all so much for taking such great care of me!
This is a great dental care office , very clean and bright With soothing music playing in the background, kind of takes the edge off of having dental work done, everyone I had contact with was Incredible , very caring , Trying to make you as comfortable as possible ,Including Dr Porras, He did a very thorough examination and explained everything clearly and gave a detailed treatment plan . I would not hesitate giving this office to try for any endodontic treatment you may need. I am sure I will be returning to start my treatment soon. Big shout out to Chelsea!!
I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Benjamin E. Porras at Big Waves Endodontics, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dental experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked into the clinic, I felt welcomed and at ease. The office was clean, modern, and professionally run, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. They took the time to explain paperwork, insurance, and what to expect during my visit, which immediately reduced my anxiety. Dr. Porras is truly exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly explain my diagnosis and treatment options in a way that was clear and reassuring. I never felt rushed, and he patiently answered all of my questions. His calm demeanor and confident expertise made a procedure that I was nervous about feel completely manageable. During the treatment, he was incredibly gentle and precise. He checked in with me regularly to ensure I was comfortable, and the procedure was far smoother and more comfortable than I anticipated. Dr Porras was referred to me by my dentist along with another endodontist..Dr Porras's office got back to me first, and because I was in such excruciating pain I went with them first..Thank God. Chelsea was my contact person from the office, professional, personable, knowledgeable from the 1st phone call. I managed medical offices back in NY over my 40 year career, so I know a well managed office when I see one. I knew before being seen, what my deductible would be. Dr Porras came in, introduced himself to me, and answered every single question and then some.. the office is state of the art..root canals have come a long way over the years, but I had one 5 years ago and the procedure has changed dramatically since then. Between numbing agents and nerve blocks, I had no pain whatsoever, the toughest part is having your mouth open that long. During my root canal I listened to music of my choice through headphones, while I watched beautiful scenery on the huge screen in the room. Afterwards, Dr Porras walked me to the checkout, and gave me his personal cell number incase I had some real discomfort after I got home. I didn't. Chelsea gave me some Advil before I even left the office , (stay in front of the pain, don't chase it).. I received a phone call from Chelsea today ( procedure was yesterday) to see how I was doing, Im doing great by the way, no need for even one Advil today and I've been living on it for 2 weeks since this problem started. I highly highly highly recommend this office and Dr Porras if you need an endodontist.. They were GREAT!!

From the moment I arrived they made me feel comfortable — the staff were gentle and soothing, took time to listen to my concerns, and showed clear empathy throughout the visit. My provider explained the entire root canal process in simple, step-by-step terms so I knew exactly what to expect. They answered all my questions without rushing and made sure I felt comfortable before beginning. The procedure itself was as gentle and painless as possible. What really set them apart was their follow-up: they called the night of the procedure and again the next day to check on me and make sure I was doing well. That extra level of care meant a lot and demonstrated their commitment to patient wellbeing.
