Powered by GoogleI have a concern I have brought to their attention and was denied. After receiving fillings in my lower right teeth I now have the sensation of something on the back of my upper top tooth. I was told when I pay my balance due, they can help me. I finally got it paid and they said I'll have to make an appointment and pay for an exam up to including x-rays. I don't have the money and shouldn't have to pay for them to check their work.
Terrible experience, the lady that cleaned my teeth was rough and didn't care if I was in pain. She broke a previous sealant on my tooth because she was so rough and didn't pay attention to what she was doing. They wanted to refill cavities that didn't need redone too.
If for some legit reason you have to reschedule your appt (same day or fall ill). They will not schedule you another one, they send you a letter dismissing you as a patient. They threaten to dismiss all of your family. Horrible secretaries that mark you as a no-show when you indeed made all attempts to let them know. My son (child) was sick and they refused to reschedule but kicked him to the curb as a patient. Full of greed and lack of empathy for patients.
I started going to Bowling and Dunn because Dr. Bowling's mother recommended him to my family roughly 20 years ago. I don't know what's happened since then, but my last few appts have been blatantly awful. First, I didn't have health insurance. When I was finally able to come back in 2 years ago and try to get back on track, Dr. Lynch took care of some fillings but point blank refused to fill the tooth I had taken care of on Tuesday. She informed me that she would not do anything until I had my wisdom teeth out. When I said I couldn't risk any complications because I'd recently gotten a new job, she was very unsympathetic. So, I didn't see any point in coming back in. If nothing was going to be done for me, it was a waste of everyone's time. On Tuesday, it wasn't any better. Peggy gave me hell before she was even on the clock. She had parked beside me in the parking lot, and as I went to open my door, she opened hers. I was blocked in my truck until she was finished gathering her things (keys, egg carton, etc). Then, she spent my entire appt making sure that I knew it had been TWO YEARS?! since my last appt. Did I realize that I had SO many fillings I'd never gotten done? It was made clear that I was supposed to feel guilty. I do wonder if Peggy realizes that these tactics won't encourage someone to return, and in many cases will dissuade pts from seeking care. Regardless, I had already made the appt for my cleaning. I was fully planning on getting back on track. But instead, my concerns for having my wisdom teeth removed were brushed off again. I cannot trust a practice that feels comfortable pressuring me into an elective surgery. I appreciate receiving information and recommendations from my care team. I want the expertise that comes with studying, training, and experience. But when I say "I don't have anyone to drive me home. I have to have a local." Peggy should not have replied, "Well, they might insist on it anyway" with a tone as if I'm being an inconvenience. Dr. Lynch felt comfortable withholding care until I agreed to elective surgery. Tuesday's appt didn't give me much hope for Dr. Bowling's opinions on the matter. These are far from the only issues, but it is the bulk of my experience.
Unfortunately I feel like I dodged a bullet with this dentistry. They called me at 10am to let me know they had a cancelation and I accepted the appointment. I called at 1:25pm to inform them I was not going to be able to make it because of not being able to find a sitter for my two toddlers. My appt was for 3pm and they apparently require a 2 hour notice which was not relayed to me before and now I am not able to be readded to the list because of something they didn't inform me about beforehand. That is unprofessional to expect someone to know your policy without telling them and then to tell them that you can not ever been seen there if they do not make the said appt they accept only 3 hours prior.
