I had a good experience with this practice. They were timely in scheduling the consult as well as the surgery. Doctor was knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions during the consult. The procedure went exactly as they communicated that it would. Staff were professional and courteous in my and my wife’s interactions with them. They called several hours after the surgery to see how I was doing. I recommend this practice based on the experience I had.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. I had a very good experience overall. They got me back there quickly. The anesthesia nurse was extremely kind and knowledgable. She put an oxygen mixed with nitrous mask on me. Put on some music even though i didnt get to enjoy any of it because next thing i knew i was out like a light. The only thing i wish she wouldve done was have me count down because all i remember was her saying something and i was so confused lol but thats just me. Wasnt a big deal at all. I went to sleep and woke up. Nothing crazy. They provided me with some after care and pain medication along with antibiotic. The ONLY thing i wish they wouldve provided were one of those ice pack bands to put around my face to hold them in place. I wouldve even paid for it if they offered it to me lol because now that was a true struggle. But next day i am completely fine. No pain, no swelling, no bruising. The doctor mustve done a good job because i am shocked at how well i feel today. I just want to thank every single person yesterday who helped me. Yall did a wonderful job ❤️
TL;DR: Pros: Takes BCBS, staff and surgeon were wonderful, I felt completely comfortable, recovery was smooth with no complications, and it was very affordable with insurance. I even got to pick music while going under, and the nurses were incredibly sweet. Cons: One staff member repeatedly mixed up my chart, gave incorrect information, and was rude. Scheduling was confusing and inconvenient—my surgery had to be moved last-minute because the dentist was out of the country and coming in on a late flight. Only CareCredit is offered for payment plans. They don’t actually do follow-ups despite their own paperwork. When I had a medication complication, the only advice I got was essentially “go to the ER if it gets worse.” Full review: I was referred here for an evaluation and extraction of nine teeth. The surgery itself (Aug 21) went smoothly and my recovery was good, but the scheduling process was chaotic from start to finish. The day before my original surgery date, I was told the dentist wouldn’t be able to perform it because he was out of the country and arriving on a late flight. I understood the situation, but the rescheduling that followed was a mess. My time was moved multiple times—sometimes within the same day—because one receptionist kept confusing me with another patient. Trying to rearrange work and rides around all this was extremely stressful. In person, the nurses and surgeon were wonderful and made me feel safe and cared for. But the receptionist handling my case was unprofessional. She mixed up my chart even after surgery, insisted I’d never been seen, and gave conflicting information about follow-up care. Their paperwork says to schedule a follow-up; she told me they “don’t do those” unless the surgeon explicitly requests it. I also developed severe chest pain and trouble swallowing from the medications they prescribed. When I called, the same receptionist only told me to stop taking the pills and “go to the ER if it gets worse.” I ended up in the ER with esophagitis caused by the meds. The surgery team was excellent, but the scheduling issues, misinformation, and lack of proper aftercare from that one staff member mean I wouldn’t return.
Dr Carvajal and his staff was amazing with my 6 yr old grandbaby. Made her feel safe and comfortable. Did a great!!
Dr Carvajal and staff are all top tier. I love that they all make you feel that you're the only patient that needs to be seen on any given day. They are all patient to the nth degree, answering all questions clearly and concisely, and I had a LOT of questions.
