Dr. Carlos R. Ibañez is a certified specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery who practices exclusively in Charlottesville, Virginia. He received his training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill. Dr. Ibañez has extensive experience in Facial Trauma, Dental Implantology, Pre-prosthetic Surgery, Corrective Jaw Surgery, TMJ Surgery, Dental Extractions, Tumor Resection and Craniofacial Reconstruction. I read some reviews while trying to figure out what my consultation fee might be the night before my appt, which was no fee by the way. Among all the 5 star reviews that I just glossed over I was more interested in the few bad reviews that I came across. I in no way experienced any of the negativity expressed in those bad reviews and found my experience to be quite the opposite of what those reviews were expressing. I have a complicated medical situation that makes an everyday procedure a little more risky. From beginning to end I felt a kind, comfortable but most importantly safe atmosphere. My long list of pre-existing issues was taken in to account and the correct path forward in my case was thoroughly explained and planned out and I look forward to having my procedure done.
I had a molar extracted today which I was extremely anxious about. I must say that after I had been dropped off by my friend, and was later told that my ride had to wait at the office for the whole time I was there, I was tempted to leave. But I called my friend an she graciously agreed to come back to the office and wait for me. The procedure was relatively painless and everyone was friendly and professional.
Was quite nervous of having tooth extraction done today. Was taken care of extremely well. I didn’t even feel myself going to sleep and then it was all over and I was awake! Would use this group for additional extractions, they all were wonderful.
Dr. Kantanen did a great job at removing my bottom two partially impacted wisdom teeth. I was worried about having them taken out and he made sure to explain everything very well. I had minimal pain following the surgery and he answered all the questions I had. I recommend!
If you need oral surgery, this is where you should go! Professional and extremely well qualified, the entire Staff is ready and able to help you. Dr. Kantanen was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.about my situation which is rather unique due to radiation effects on my jaw. I rate this practice 5+ !!!
