Powered by GoogleFrom start to finish - this was THE best dental experience that I have ever had. I had made it clear that I was paying out of pocket to get 2 wisdom teeth pulled & that the final cost was very important to me. They were friendly, stayed on schedule, easy to work with & had no hidden fees/costs - and they were MUCH lower priced than all other local offices that I called. Surgeon was friendly & to the point re: what the plan would be. It took him less than 2 minutes to remove both! Staff were kind & helpful in making sure that I was stable before I left their office. Highly recommend!
fast service and fair pricing. I had a minor issue (removal of clogged salivary gland) but it was taken care of in less than 72 hours from when I called. Diagnosis and "surgery" was done in less than 30 minutes. This may not be the case for complicated surgeries but was for mine. After diagnosis they told me the cost of the procedure. no surprises. They rightfully had me pegged for a cheapskate and told me I could save some money by skipping laughing gas. Dr Collins is old school. Straightforward, no Nonsense Approach. He Talked to me like a normal person, not some arrogant academic. The facility functioned as a business and not a bureaucratic labrynth so often seen in today's medical world. I Would definitely recommend his services based on my experience.
My experience with this institution is no doubt the worst experience I’ve ever had with any medical practitioner, and likely the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. When I called to make an appointment, I was explicitly told there would be consultation before my surgery to talk over what would be most appropriate in my situation. However, there was no such consultation. Rather, I was openly mocked for even suggesting treatment out of the ordinary. The assistant said something along the lines of, “Ooh, big boy wants to make his own decisions!” Dr. Collins made a religious joke about wisdom teeth, that was literally the extent of my consultation. If I had had my wits about me I would have up and left, but my fear of surgery paralyzed me. As a result of their arrogance and inability to take me seriously, I am now left permanently scarred with a painful and uncomfortable condition that I will likely live with for the rest of my life. I have consequently been depressed since the surgery, which was about four months ago. Virtually every day I am overwhelmed with bitter regret that I did not stand up for myself and walk out of that awful place. Virtually every day I am overwhelmed with pure loathing and hatred for Dr. Collins and what he has done to me. I would only recommend Dr. Collins if you have absolutely no respect for your own intelligence or well-being. Otherwise, just about any other person or object would likely give you a more positive experience.
Please be cautious. Went to Dr Collins in April 2018 to have two extractions. One was an upper molar and the roots were into my sinus canal. This is apparently common although was not mentioned as a possibility prior to the procedure. After the procedure I was sent home with written instructions in regard to rinsing and home care. Nothing in those instructions mentioned an open sinus cavity. Turns out the instructions given were NOT applicable in my case. The rinsing caused the packing to come out so when I called I was told to come back in. I went back in on April 15 - yes "tax day". I was taken to an exam room and left for almost an hour during which I could hear Dr Collins loudly and plainly on the phone with his accountant complaining about his large tax bill (yes, I know the amount but won't share it here). He was furious and berating not only his tax person but staff. The assistant kept coming in to check on me and explaining he was "tied up". FINALLY, he came in and gave it a quick glance and said there was nothing he could do now - I didn't follow my "instructions". I explained I followed the instructions I was given EXACTLY and he left the room and stated I did it wrong. I had sinus surgery this week (a full year later) by an ENT surgeon to try and correct the problems caused by Dr Collins and am still facing the possibility of seeing another oral surgeon as the hole was so large the ENT isn't sure it will hold. A nightmare experience that has cost me a fortune and continues to cost me. This man is arrogant, unprofessional and rude. I've worked in the medical field for over 30 years and never encountered anyone as unprofessional as Dr Collins. For what it is worth this is the first negative review I have given mainly because if it's bad I just don't go back but in this case I feel strongly I should warn others.
I took my partner here to get his wisdom teeth removed, and my experience can only be called bizarre. While I sat in the waiting room and my partner was being sedated, I was privy to a discussion between the doctor and his assistant about buying a gun. The assistant was looking at them on her computer, while the doctor offered advice about the best model for killing intruders. This seemed odd, certainly, but nothing prepared me for the doctor to take out his own gun. It was unloaded, which I could tell by the click, click, click as he repeatedly pulled the trigger. This made me uncomfortable enough, but the situation became even stranger when the doctor handed the gun to his assistant and gave her an impromptu lesson in shooting. Some of this I glimpsed behind the counter, and some of it I discerned by hearing, but suffice it to say that it was just about the most uncomfortable I'd ever been in a public place. The complete lack of professionalism was astounding; I'm sure I'm not alone in my preference not to be faced with deadly weapons in a medical facility. By the time the doctor put his gun away and went back to perform my partner's operation, I was a bundle of nerves. And rightly so. The wisdom tooth removal took much longer than was predicted, and my partner faced long-term side-effects from the drugs that were prescribed for after the procedure.
