I went to Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics at the end of last year and had a very disappointing experience. I was seen by Dr. Torres, who evaluated me and told me I needed to extract five teeth and replace them with implants and bone grafts. She said she couldn’t provide a quote or treatment plan at that visit and instructed me to return in two weeks to see Dr. Jose for his input. She even advised me to cancel a deep cleaning I had already scheduled with my regular dentist so I did, even though I really needed it. Two weeks later, I showed up for my appointment with Dr. Jose. They brought me back, made me wait a long time, and eventually an assistant came in to tell me that Dr. Torres had completely forgotten to inform anyone that I was supposed to see him. The only thing she left at reception was a treatment plan for extracting tooth #19—nothing about the five extractions, grafts, or implants she originally told me I needed. The assistant said Dr. Torres would call me that day to apologize and clarify and she never did. I chose this center because of the glowing reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. It was unprofessional, disorganized, and a total waste of my time. Time I could have spent getting proper care somewhere else. After this ordeal, I went to The Mugford Center, and the difference was night and day. They were professional, responsible, and actually followed through. I ended up getting all the treatment I needed there without any of the runaround. The thousands of dollars I was prepared to spend at Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics ultimately went to The Mugford Center instead. A place I recommend 100%.
I recently had 2 implants done at Columbia Center for Implants, one of which was previously done by another surgeon at a different practice. This implant had fractured in a short period of time and needed to be redone. Walking into this practice, I was very impressed with how organized it was and the attentiveness of the front desk. Dr Jose was very professional and his staff very knowledgeable. Every step of the whole process was explained what was involved and during the procedures, they were always making sure you were comfortable and doing ok. I could tell Dr Jose is an expert in his profession and took pride in his work. I highly recommend Dr Jose and team for your dental needs. You won't be disappointed.
Dr. Jose is extremely accommodating! From the very beginning, I could tell that he wants the best results for his patients and he will go to great lengths to make that happen. While in the chair, he ensures that his patients are comfortable with his laid back and relax demeanor. The operations are also very efficient! Would 100% recommend.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr Jose and his staff. Everyone at this practice has always been very knowledgeable and caring. I definitely feel like I made the right choice choosing Dr Jose. I would highly recommend this practice to everyone.
Incredible. Lots of problems. All solved here. Please read. I went to Columbia Center for implants and periodontics needing a lot of catch up dental care. I needed one extraction, and three dental implants, which required bone grafting and a sinus lift. For my consult, my teeth were scanned, a plan was set forth and reviewed with me for clear understanding of the procedures I needed done. It would take multiple visits, as well as multiple appointments needing a numbing agent injected into the area being worked. My first appointment for treatment arrived and I prepared myself for the dreaded but necessary novocaine injections, which always leaves my face paralyzed for hours after the procedure. Dr. Jose injected that novacaine, flawlessly. I barely felt the injection. I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure. He constantly checked in with me. I received my instructions for care and went to my car. I looked in the mirror and realized, I had complete control of my face, lips and mouth. I was amazed. This was the case every single time I had pain numbing injections by Dr. Jose. One appointment required an extraction, done by Dr. Chon, who also administered the novacaine, with the same results. No pain, no numb face for hours. They are unmatched. After all my bone grafts, sinus lift and implant procedures were healed. I went back to my regular Dentist in Laurel and she ordered my teeth and placed them. They were done at the same visit. They did not look good, or feel good. I expressed my concerns to the "Dentist" who after shaving, trimming and thinning the teeth to make them fit, told me everything was fine and I would just need to get used to them. Days, and weeks my teeth were still not correct. My dentist maintained I would get used to them. When major issues arose with those teeth, I took myself to Dr. Jose to get the answers I wasn't getting from my "Dentist". Dr. Jose confirmed what I knew all along. My teeth were put in the wrong place by that dentist and she ignored my concerns. Dr. Jose noticed immediately that my teeth were wrong. I was so grateful he could confirm my suspicion. I was very angry and sick to my stomach over my Dentist' severe negligence, it was a lot to process. Dr. Jose didn't just confirm my suspicion, he requested permission to put my teeth in their correct place. He did, and I couldn't be more grateful. He took over the care of those teeth making sure I had no more problems. He also helped me get my former " Dentist" to face what she did and make it right. This office has great employees too. The front desk is knowledgeable and helpful. The dental assistants are incredibly comforting and also in the know. I always had Molly and she is fantastic. I am on the latter side of life and have had my fair share of dental appointments , surgeries and procedures. Never have I experienced the care that I received here. From the front desk, to Dr. Jose himself, top notch, and unmatched. I still smile when I look at my properly placed teeth. If I need any dental procedures I will always check here first to see if they do said procedures. I wish there were more than five stars to be awarded. Forever grateful.
