I was initially willing to give this office the benefit of the doubt and assume my experience was a one-off. However, after a friend recently had a terrible experience, I feel compelled to leave a one-star review. A couple months ago, the doctor I saw was extremely unprofessional and had terrible bedside manner. Older Indian guy. Long story short, he rushed into the room and hurried through what was supposed to be a routine teeth cleaning. During his speedy process, he repeatedly stabbed my gums with the metal picks and tools with ZERO regard for the obvious pain he was causing me. I understand that dental cleanings can be uncomfortable at times, but this went FAR beyond normal discomfort. At times, it felt so unnecessarily rough that it honestly made me question whether he was bordering on being sadistic. I am not exaggerating. He was abrupt, dismissive and didn’t talk to me. Only thing I even remember him saying was that he was busy. He kept rushing in and out of the room. His assistant was professional and gave me proper care. Everytime this doctor returned he inflicted more pain on me. I understand things get busy… but one must still give quality care. Given both my experience and my friends recent experience, I will NOT be going back to this place!

I've not been to a dental office in years, because of what most people fear about having dental work done. Yesterday: I had one of the most pleasurable experiences in this New London office. Gretchen, the dental hygienist, was UNBELIEVABLE. She has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable, relaxed, and assuring, as she performed her magic. While my dental work took over 45 minutes, it seemed like half that time as she talked with me during that entire time. Her sense of being and empath for my dental care was remarkable. I never thought I would ever say this about dental work, without a blind of the eye I would comeback to see Gretchen. Thank you, Gretchen, from the bottom of my heart. P.S. A quick shout out to Dr. L, and the wonderful staff!!

I went through a long process after losing a primary tooth trying to get an implant. After the Dr tried twice and the implant would not heal. They were so patient with me and helped me make the best decision for the problem.

They constantly tout their reputation as a trusted dental name with a solid 25-year history. However, I have a different opinion. I had a filling done by them over ten years ago, and for the past five years, they’ve been refusing to fix it. Even other dental offices are hesitant to touch it because they don’t recognize it as their work.

Most people will only write a review if it's something bad but won't take the time to write a good one. I think people will find something negative in everything like I've seen reading other reviews on here. Anyway, Columbia Dental has been pleasant both times I've been so far. I've had traumatic experiences with another CT dentist so I always get nervous going anywhere new .. This place made me feel relaxed & calm. Everyone is super nice & explained everything or answered any questions. The Doctor was gentle as you can be for getting extractions done. And swift. He was done before I even realized it. Thanks again to the great staff! I definitely Recommend 💯
