Powered by GoogleI strongly advise anyone considering cosmetic dental work to seek a second opinion before moving forward with treatment here. I came in for what should have been a straightforward veneer procedure, and it turned into a costly and emotionally draining experience. Temporary veneers fell out multiple times—up to ten—which should never happen with proper fit and care. Despite voicing my concerns early and repeatedly, I felt dismissed and pressured to continue treatment I was clearly uncomfortable with. I ultimately sought care from a highly experienced cosmetic specialist, who confirmed the work was not up to professional standards. To make matters worse, my insurance was billed for crowns—when this was clearly an elective cosmetic procedure. This misrepresentation is unethical and, in my opinion, fraudulent. It speaks volumes about the lack of transparency and integrity I experienced throughout this process. Many general dentists now offer veneers because they see it as an easy source of profit, yet most lack the advanced training or specialized experience required for true cosmetic dentistry. What’s most concerning is that there’s little to no real oversight—any general dentist can advertise as a cosmetic provider without proper credentials. Veneers are not a basic procedure, and patients deserve transparency. General dentists should stick to their scope and stop misleading patients with claims they can deliver expert cosmetic results. The amount of tooth structure removed was far beyond what is typically required for a veneer. Veneers generally require only minimal enamel reduction, while the preparation I received removed a significant portion of the tooth, exposing surfaces that should have remained intact. Up • Over-preparing teeth can happen when a clinician lacks proper training or experience with true veneer techniques. A properly performed veneer preparation preserves as much natural tooth as possible — usually just a thin layer of enamel. • What was done in my case resembles a crown preparation rather than a veneer preparation. This level of reduction is unnecessary for veneers and is not consistent with accepted veneer protocol. • Because excessive tooth removal can lead to long-term complications — including pain, sensitivity, and structural weakness — it is considered outside the standard of care for veneer procedures. When I requested a refund to correct the damage, I was denied and told I would have to return to the office—despite clearly stating I no longer felt safe or comfortable doing so. I’ve since filed a formal complaint with the Oregon Board of Dentistry and encourage others to do their due diligence before trusting this provider. Choose your dentist wisely—especially when it comes to irreversible cosmetic work. First picture is my teeth before any drilling. Second picture is how much he drilled off. Third picture is the final veneer - terrible and crooked. ⸻ Updated July 24 I’ve since sought treatment from a highly skilled cosmetic dentist who removed all of the veneers done by Dr. Drew and placed new temporaries. The difference has been night and day. I’ve had zero issues—no pain, no veneers falling out—and my final set is scheduled in three weeks. In contrast, during my treatment with Dr. Drew, ten veneers fell off over the course of just one month. It was an incredibly stressful and painful experience. I requested a refund to help cover the cost of correcting the damage, but he refused. I’ve now retained legal counsel and am pursuing the matter further. Please be cautious. In my personal opinion, this provider was unprofessional and dishonest. If you’re considering treatment and want to speak directly, feel free to reach out to me on social media—I’m happy to share more about what happened.
Dr. Harris is incredibly skilled and truly so kind! I was very nervous when I called to schedule an emergency appointment, but everyone at Drew Family Dentistry made the experience feel easy. The front desk is very friendly and empathetic and got me in as quickly as possible. Dr. Harris took the time to explain everything needed and reassured me through the entire process. My tooth now looks (and feels) better than ever and I cannot recommend them enough!
