Wonderful experience from start to finish. Dental work is never a walk in the park for me but Dr. Johnson and his team made it very enjoyable, efficient and motivating for me to continue on my journey of getting healthier teeth and gums. Cannot thank you enough!
I have periodontal disease and was missing most of my teeth on top. My intention was to get implants plus I need regular cleanings for my lower teeth for this condition. After finding out the cost of implants I decided I needed to save money because I wanted something that stayed in my mouth. The doctor decided the plan was going to be focusing on my lower teeth. I came in for cleanings 4 times a year because my insurance will cover that for my condition. After a while, I think that me not acting on getting my upper teeth bugged the doctor and you could see it by his expressions and actions. When it was his time to come see me he would have me open my mouth and he would just look inside my open mouth and tell me to "keep fighting", never really doing a thorough check. The first hygienist was always concerned with what insurance would cover, especially x-rays. I guess I was due and she told me the insurance was goin g to be expiring soon and it would still cover one but the technician wasn't in and she didn't do that stuff but insurance would still be good for next appt so we'd do it then. The next time, she decided she knew how to do it and took me herself. She said she'd done it a couple of times but she didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I had missing teeth in front and the piece you bite down on wouldn't stay in right and kept falling out. At least they got paid for an x-ray..that seemed to be top priority. I didn't want to see her anymore and got another. She was really fun and perky and I thought she was good....until...one appt. I came in and she told me she had "magic glasses" that she could see my bone. She also had what looked like a head set for a phone with a stem that is level to the mouth but was decorated. I was going for bottom cleaning but she would ever slightly clean the few teeth on top that were left. This time, she concentrated on my VERY loose tooth for a good 10 to 15 minutes and didn't clean the bottom very good. When I got home, I flossed my bottom and it still had a bad smell. My mouth where that tooth was was VERY tender when I went home and even more so the next day. After that it definitely was to fall out very soon. Other times with light cleaning it would tighten up some. Sure, I should of got it pulled but I could still live with it. She seemed to be telling me one thing when she was doing it like , "hopefully, this will tighten it back up", while telling her headband and repeating in it that "That bone isn't coming back". Another thing she did that was strange before she started all of that was she measured the pocket in the VERY loose tooth and she actually repeated the measurement twice in her headband. WHY take a measurement in a tooth ready to fall out and I was only going there for treatment on my lower? She was also trying to talk me into dental plates that snap in and out. I told her I was saving for implants and was saving for the way I wanted it. After that, I was done with them. It all was a blessing in disguise though, I got the kind of implants I wanted where you keep your own gums and they are permanent. I couldn't be more happy with them and I believe they were much more of a better deal. I have to go out of state for them but well worth it. I didn't have any pain, I got 6 posts and have my own gums. They are very comfortable . I also healed way faster than I was being told I would here. My implants are all good and I get my finals in a couple weeks.
They have been a good source for my previous periodontal disease remediation and recovery. Dr Jason and staff are dedicated and particular to regimen, working with me on cost and procedure. All reasons for me to proceed with a complicated double implant in the present.
All of the staff was very nice, and knowledgeable. Dr Johnson performed a thorough examination and explained everything so it was easy to understand.
