I came here to get dental implants but before going under I warned the anesthesiologist that I have red hair, that I just dye it to look brown, and medication wears off really fast. Anyways the surgery happens and the next thing I know I'm waking up in the recovery chair with the worst pain I've ever experienced because the pain and numbness medication wore off. I was balling and begging the nurse on staff only to be told I "need to calm down" and when I asked for my mom (who was in the waiting room the while time) she refused. All I remember is crying and that at least 45 minutes have passed because there was a huge clock in the recovery room, at least 45 minutes of me without any pain medication and dealing with the pain of having 2 screws drilled into my jaw. Finally, the anesthesiologist is brought back and administers a direct shot to the mouth of some kind of numbness and I finally don't feel the pain and stop crying. You know why it took so long? Because they apparently already started another surgery on some other patient and didn't have another anesthesiologist on hand. I used to go here because I had a lot of dental problems growing up and all of those times have been good, but this entire experience has ruined it for me. Their staff has gotten ruder and I'm terrified of having to ever get surgery again because of the pain I experienced.

I went in to get a retained root tip extracted, after the tooth had broken off. Dr Ellis decided it would be a good idea to also remove the tooth next to it, without any reason. That’s right, he took THE WRONG TOOTH. When I asked him about it, he avoided giving straight answers like he was testifying in front of congress. Did he care I can now barely eat? Not one bit. Any concern for the 20 pounds I’ve lost in the 11 days since my surgery? Not even a hint. So if you enjoy keeping healthy teeth where they belong, I suggest finding someone else.

Ellis & Evans Oral Surgery are awesome. All three of my daughters had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Evans and he did a phenomenal job. No issues whatsoever and the staff were A+.

If you’re looking for a doctor to remove the wrong tooth you’ve found the place! Don’t worry they won’t take any accountability for their actions even if it is a disabled veteran that’s lost twenty pounds since surgery because he can’t eat. Dr. Ellis handled the complaint like a champ and side stepped every direct question on why he would take a healthy tooth instead of the root tip that was noted in the referral. He’s obviously done this before and I’m sure he will do it again. Best of luck to any future patients and let the odds be ever in your favor.
