Powered by GoogleThat was absolutely crazy making. The worst visit to a doctor's office of any sort in my life. I came in telling them a chunk of a molar had broken off. Dr. Eye looked in my mouth and said that I would need to go to a specialist to see if there were any cracks... Seemingly overlooking that a chunk of the molar was entirely missing. Then, when I told him again that a chunk had broken off, he took some photos and told me that a chunk had broken off. I then gave him a run down of prior dentists' observations, which were dismissed (fair enough). But I explicitly said twice that I was planning to get an implant next to this tooth and the surgeon said he didn't have space because the broken tooth had drifted and was in the way. He suggested doing a filling as a stop gap and I said, "sure". He then proposed doing a crown. I asked if there was integrity enough for it? His response was to point to an xray and tell me I might need a root-canal... Then suddenly it seemed like the appointment was done!?!? I was told to head up front to check out. Up front I asked if I was scheduling a time for a filling. I was told that they would have to send out for approval from my insurance before they could move forward with a crown. WHAT!?!? And it would take 3 weeks for the approval. But their office manager wasn't in so they;d send it next Monday. Again, WHAT!?!? I asked about care for my broken tooth, but this was just the front desk person. They had to go back to find the dentist who said essentially "be careful". At this point, I feel that everything was done and I was dismissed to leave the office, but I asked to use the bathroom. When I came out I asked again if I was done, and asked for a rundown of the next steps. This became a situation where the dentist had to come back out to the desk. It took three attempts to figure out what his plan was, because at no point in time was I told what it was while I was in the chair. Then I was told that I needed to go back to the chair for another x-ray because insurance would need that specific x-ray before they'd approve anything. I got the x-ray, confirmed three times that there was nothing else they needed from me and left... Honestly, What the hell just happened? If I hadn't stopped to pee, I would have never known what they were asking my insurance to approve. Holy cow, was that bad. Yikes. EDIT: They claim that I wasn't a patient despite me sending this exact same message to their office through their customer survey. See the attached screenshot of my insurance's EOB for this appointment. What a disgrace.
I also fell a victim to the CROWN SCAM at this place. When I was in my early 20s, I was told I needed a crown. It turns out that crown was not done properly, and later on it turned into a Root Canal, with the possibility of losing my tooth. Additionally, my father also received care at this dentistry. His teeth were never the same after getting treatment here- it led to a lot pain and problems. Avoid this place if you can.
Appearance is deceiving. Very nice office, high quality equipment. I went in for a routine cleaning, was told I have two cavities, where Dr. Eye (younger one) took a picture of two teeth on each side of my upper jaw. Upon going home I noticed not all the plaque was cleaned off my teeth. I went back for my cavity fillings, where I asked Dr. Eye to please take the plaque off. He used a water-pick, and it left my gums raw and bleeding, very rough. When filling the cavities he did two on one side, not one on each side, but they claim it was always two on one side and I have no proof otherwise. After my filling I noticed the inside of my tooth is rough and jagged, cutting into my tongue, and it’s causing an open sore. I called back to get it polished, where I was told unless I could drive to their Woodstock location right now, it would have to wait a week and a half for their next available appointment. I tried calling other dentists, but would have to pay out of pocket for a polishing. I am very hesitant to go back even for this polishing, but unless I want to pay $90 elsewhere I must go back. Both times I was in and out in under 20 mins, work seemed very rushed. I’ve never had this much discomfort for a cavity filling or routine cleaning.
Dr. Eye did a lovely job filling two of my teeth. The match was perfect. He and his assistant were both attentive and thoughtful. The office is quite nice: clean, artsy and relaxing. The receptionist was pleasant as well. She was quite accommodating with scheduling and took extra measures to make sure that my insurance was on the same page.
Last week I visited the office and was pleasantly greeted. I never liked going to the dentist even when I was a child. The staff here are always patient and courteous with me. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. Dr.Eye is always informative in what he sees and what he is doing. I have been seeing Dr. Eye for 2 years now ever since I found out that the dentist my son was seeing was out of network. Which was costing us a lot more than necessary. Dr.Eye is in network for us and I am glad. I would recommend him to anyone.
