Update: Review of Family Dental December 2025 Review of Family Dental It’s not the Family Dental I have known for over 20 years. Time and new methods have changed not only how they run the practice but also how they treat their patients, but I want to recognize my hygienist, Jeanette, who has always been professional, kind, and accommodating. Unfortunately, my dentist, Dr. Perfitt, though personable, had difficulty from the start when I requested that my head remain slightly elevated during treatment to prevent vertigo. After several appointments that left me dizzy, the final straw came during a crown procedure when cold air hit a nerve, causing intense pain and uncontrollable shaking that continued after the procedure ended. Even as I tried to explain the pain I was in, he insisted on finishing without attempting to make me more comfortable. Afterward, I requested a different dentist for future visits. Instead, I received a call from a new employee informing me that the other practitioner, Dr. Wenzel, would not see me because he was unwilling to accommodate my vertigo. Later, the same employee called again to tell me that the practice was terminating me as a patient altogether. Imagine receiving a phone call telling you that you are no longer a patient because the doctors are unwilling to make reasonable accommodations for your medical needs. That’s exactly what happened to me. Times have changed, and sadly, so has the quality of care and compassion that once defined Family Dental. For this reason, I have to give the practice the lowest rating possible. I’m genuinely sorry to leave under these circumstances after so many good years with caring professionals in the past.

My experiences at Family Dental have always been good. Janette, Jackie, and the office staff are always helpful and friendly. Today there was a small glitch because my trays were not available for my 10:10 appointment, but a slot was open in the afternoon, so I ran some errands and all was fine. Thank you for your excellent work.

I’ve been a patient at family dental for 23 years and have always had an amazing experience. I love my hygienist, Hilary is amazing and Wenzel had fixed one of my cracked teeth and you can’t even tell. I had a cleaning a couple weeks ago where he had identified a cavity and due to him being the only actual dentist there, I overheard at the front desk many people upset about not being able to be fit in until March. I took what I could get and left, but over the course of the past week I’ve been having excruciating pain. I called the office and the woman at the front desk was super sweet and told me yesterday that they could fit me in to do an emergency filling today so I had to last minute take the day off of work to get it done. Of course because they were trying to accommodate, I was as well. I go into the dentist today and both my hygienist and dentist identified that I was having pain and sensitivity and I explained how I’ve been getting headaches that turn into migraines from it. They both had said that obviously they don’t want me in pain or discomfort but then said that I should just take 600mg of Tylenol every day for the next 4 months until my appointment which as someone who doesn’t like to self medicate, I feel uncomfortable with and also noted my concern about sitting with a cavity for four months as it develops and might progress into the root. Today they all just poked around in my mouth for a while, leaving me in more pain at the end and at the very end of my appointment disappeared and no one was around to help me or talk to me about anything except for the sweet receptionist lady that offered me a hug. I am extremely sad and in so much pain, I’m so disappointed in them.

I've been having my teeth cleaned by Janette for so many years I'm not sure but guessing 25+ years and won't go to anyone else! She's the best!!!
