Powered by GoogleMy daughter had an extraction done this past Monday and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very inviting and respectful. The doctor himself took time out to explain to me everything that was told to my daughter’s dad during her consultation. He didn’t seem rushed or annoyed to go over everything twice. Really good vibes and my daughter said they made her feel very comfortable so that’s all I could ask for :) I highly recommend. Also, one of those slim to none Options that her insurance covers. Is a win-win for sure !
I was referred to Georgia Center for Oral Facial Surgery & Implants by my dentist. Scheduling was easy from the start—I called and was able to get a consultation appointment without any issues. All preliminary paperwork was completed electronically ahead of time, and I waited until my consultation on October 20th. At my consultation, the front desk staff and technicians were pleasant and professional. I watched an informational video about wisdom tooth extraction, then met with the doctor who recommended having all four wisdom teeth removed using nitrous gas. I agreed. I was then given paperwork outlining the nitrous contract and pre-op instructions. I was also shown my estimated cost and asked if I wanted to pay that day; I chose not to and instead left a $50 deposit, planning to schedule surgery once I confirmed time off from work. When I called back to schedule my procedure, I was told I could make payments leading up to my appointment, which I did. By the day of surgery (November 17th), I owed only $35 of the total $785. On surgery day, Dr. Rools and the assisting tech were excellent—I felt comfortable throughout the procedure. My prescription was ready within a few hours and before the anesthesia wore off. I also asked to keep my wisdom teeth, which they gladly accommodated. On the day of surgery, I asked for an itemized receipt and was told that a manager would need to pull it. Because I was still coming off the anesthesia and preparing to leave, I never received it before exiting the office. I later texted the office requesting the itemized receipt while also asking about the status of my insurance claim submission. The first receipt I received was missing several of my self-payments. After calling and informing the staff of the discrepancy, I did receive a corrected and updated receipt. The most difficult part of this experience has been the insurance submission and reimbursement process. I work in HR and have MetLife PDP Plus dental insurance, so I’m familiar with how reimbursements work and have been reimbursed by other providers in the past. My consultation was billed to insurance within two business days; however, my surgery claim never appeared. After I called in December to inquire, I was told there had been an issue and the claim would be resubmitted. After additional follow-up, I was told there was an electronic submission issue and that the claim was mailed on December 1st. Once my insurance finally received and processed the claim, it confirmed what I suspected—I had overpaid by about $300. While I understand this is a business, the calculations were clearly off. I have followed up multiple times regarding my reimbursement and was told they were still waiting on insurance to pay. The delays and lack of urgency have been frustrating. Businesses tend to move quickly when collecting payment, but much slower when it comes time to return overpayments. Overall, the facility is clean, the staff and doctors are kind and professional, and the clinical care itself was great. I would strongly encourage patients to fully understand their insurance coverage, request and review itemized receipts, monitor claim submissions, and carefully review their explanation of benefits. The economy is tough, but dental care is important, so I paid what was asked—just be sure to advocate for yourself.
Everyone was super nice!! The women there was super nice and the man did my surgery was super nice!! He explained things perfectly I was completely freaking out in there when I had to get 4 of my Widsom teeth out but the women that was in there was super nice talking to me trying to make me comfortable I am very thankful for her and the other!!!
My 13 year old had to get an impacted tooth removed from her lower jaw line. I was not worried as Dr. Dessieux took time to explain everything from start to finish and post recovery. The location is very clean and stylist. Doesn't give your typical dental office feel, look or smell. Everyone we encounter was friendly and caring with my daughter. Excellent protocols in place. From time of consultation to surgery date only two weeks. I definitely trust this team with any future dental needs. 🙌🏾
My teenage son had his wisdom teeth removed. The following week he was still experiencing pain and swelling from something sharp rubbing against his tongue. When I called the office Monday morning I was told that the doctor was not in and would not be there for two days. That evening his pain increased and his gums were swollen and red. I knew that he had an infection. I called the office number but did not get an answer. There was no after hours number for emergencies. The next morning we went to the office and spoke with the office manager. She said there was nothing we could do but wait until the following day afternoon when the doctor would be in. She also sent a message to the doctor and told me that she would call me as soon as she heard back from the doctor. I called around to find a dentist office that would see my son and found a office. The other dentist office did x-rays and a exam. My son has an infection and possibly a bone fragment. The new dentist flushed the area, prescribed antibiotics and pain meds. We still have to wait to see the oral surgeon tomorrow afternoon to see what has to be done. I have never been to any surgeon who does not have any type of after hours emergency service nor recommendations. After going back today to see the oral surgeon , I am certain that his reputation is more important than patient care. My teenage son should not have had to check a grown " professional" man and tell him to lower his voice arguing with his mother.
