I am not a fan of going to the dentist, partially because I have sensory issues and a lot of anxiety and partly because I have had bad experiences in the past. Gregg and his team are now the ONLY dentist I will see because of how exemplary their attention to detail and care was at my first appointment on Tuesday. To start off, I found out that the type of Medicare I have didn't cover dental, so the front desk staff Brittany (not sure on spelling) pulled me aside and privately told me to let me make an informed decision on whether I wanted to proceed. She was discreet and so understanding. Already really liked the place just based off her. Then I got my exam, X-rays, and cleaning from Claire (also not sure on spelling) and she was so calm and patient and so intuitive that she was picking up on things that were uncomfortable or overstimulating for me even when I WASN'T voicing them- and offered me accommodations (like not spraying the water on my teeth directly but allowing me to swish the water in my mouth instead for my temperature sensitive teeth) to help mitigate those sensations as much as possible. I shared the fact that I had not been taking the best care of my teeth recently because I had been suffering with depression and she was so kind and empathetic and made sure that I felt understood and not ashamed. She helped me from where I was that day rather than making me feel bad that I wasn't better. That's the number one thing that counts to me when I am looking for someone to be apart of my health team. Then Gregg the official dentist came in and did his exam and made some extra notes and he even spoke to me about what to look or ask for when I went dental insurance hunting and pointed me in the right direction. I've been on the receiving end of a Dentist who didn't see me as a real person, just another body in the chair and also didn't care about what I was going through or what it would cost to help me, and Gregg was the POLAR OPPOSITE of that. He was thoughtful and attentive and also didn't make me feel bad about the state my teeth were in and gave me actionable things I could do to help make getting them healthier and better easier to achieve on my wallet. I've spoken to others who go to him as well and all they can say is how they pray he never retires and how much they adore him, and now I have first hand experience as to why and I feel the same. If I could, I'd rate him Higher than a 5 star.
