The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was rough. She held the polisher on my teeth until it was hot, leaving sensitivity and grooves on some. She forgot my fluoride so I went back for it, had her to put it on and and proceed to rub the rest of it on my lips, saying "don't rub it off". Weird, and not recommended. Over 20 years of going there. Sad, and lawsuit worthy. I'm done. Edit- My daughter hasn't been seen there since 2022. And now just received a bill for a time and place and 2 filings she never received AFTER I made my feelings clear about (Barbra?) And her mistreatment. She was then brought to another dentist to confirm those teeth don't have fillings. False billing. Be careful!
Headwaters Dental USED TO BE a great place when Dr. Mike (Fiel) was still practicing. However, I recently received a nasty, unprofessional letter from Dr. Winslow and I will not be going back.
I called to make an appointment due to having a toothache. Receptionist asked if I was a patient there before and I said yes. My whole family goes there. She tells me they have an opening next week buuuut, Receptionist said, "It looks like you have a chart but haven't been in for over 3 years. That means you're a new patient? We're not seeing new patients." Uh, what? Huh? Found out there is a dentist shortage in Bemidji. Was told to go to Walk-in Clinic? Seriously, I was told this. To be honest this is negligence. I don't write reviews very often but this is next level incompetent. Have been debating about reporting to the MN Department of Health. I really was stunned, but sounds like this is a common occurrence in town. Bemidji Dental did schedule me in 6 weeks but I called all around 4 other places and none are taking new clients. Times have sure changed from when the old small town dentist would get you in when you need to get in. I thought they were joking when I was told to go to walk-in but they were serious. In their defense they weren't the only dentist in town that told me to do this. Prior to this episode they have done well for myself and family, but there is nothing that could be communicated with me to repair this. Moral of the story is don't cancel a cleaning without rescheduling in town or you may get dropped as a client and most aren't taking new clients 🤔.
Took my son in for his first dental visit (3 years old) and all the staff made the experience enjoyable and fun for my son! He cannot wait to go back :) I also get my all my dental work done here as well and the atmosphere is very relaxed and calming. Friendly staff, clean office, comfortable chairs where you get your dental work done. Nothing bad to say about this place.
I don't typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to counterbalance the four recent 1-star reviews that appear likely to have been written by the same disgruntled person. Headwaters Dental has provided services to me and my family since we moved to Bemidji 20 years ago. In my experience, the receptionists have always been courteous, friendly, and accommodating. There have been numerous times over the years that they have to worked to schedule appointments for one of us on very short notice. As far as the dentists are concerned, Dr. Winslow and Dr. Feil are both down to earth and excellent at what they do. And though I am deserving of some finger wagging for not taking better care of my teeth, both dentists always remain positive and supportive (even when I messed up one's handiwork by eating a caramel that pulled out a filling). Overall, I doubt there's a better dental team in town.
