I started incorporating the iHex and other IHBiomedical lines of implants into my 4 general dentistry practices 5 months ago and have been pleased both surgically and restoratively. Surgically, the iHex's aggressive thread pattern has enabled me to establish primary stability in previously difficult cases with other major systems, enabling ease of immediate temporization in many cases. The included abutment is great for immediate temporization or impressions for a 2 appointment implant, abutment, and crown case. Restoratively, we have been able to continue utilizing all the compatible lab components and CEREC tibase's and our referring dentist have found it easier then other compatible systems to restore, stating parts and pieces fit better. On top of all this, Direct to Manufacturer prices has reduced our overhead significantly enabling us to offer more affordable fees to patients, which has increased case acceptance overall!
My favorite thing about the iHex series is the compatibility with other internal hex systems I am familiar with. The favorable price point also makes sense for our practices. The new iHex 2 with its self-drilling aspects (you only drill to 75% length with the pilot drill) allows for simplified, efficient, and high torque placement. It eliminates the chance for a "spinner" in the osteotomy. Check out the Xray below. I Love the self tapping iHex 2!!!
One of the biggest challenges to incorporating implant placement treatment in a dental office is the cost of providing the service, namely the price of the implant. Because the price from the leading implant companies is high, it leads to higher fees for the patient. With the iHex series, it is amazing at how inexpensive the implant system is--the pricing is under $150 each! And even lower if purchased through their "club pricing model". I can now pass on those savings to the patient...which can lead to higher case acceptance and helping patients get what they need and want. I highly recommend.
I like the fact that I don’t need to get rid of my instrumentation or surgical kit. I moved the iHex Series into my existing Implant System and protocol without a single change. The single package with implant and healing cap is more convenient. The company has significantly reduced the cost of entry into implant services for every Dentist and provide the training and support needed at every level.
I have now placed several IHex implants and love them! They have a great thread pattern that allows me to undersize then trust that the implant will self thread and be secure. They are easily compatible with my old internal hex system and cost a LOT less. I’m ordering mine through the Dallas Implant Institute for the best price possible. Great job on this one IH Biomedical!!
