Everyone that I encountered in the office and during my treatment was nice and professional. On the day of my appointment for wisdom tooth removal, I was very nervous but the staff did a good job in helping me calm down. Overall the procedure went well- I am pleased with the work of Dr. Winter and would highly recommend this place to others for oral surgery.

When it comes to extractions, you should know that in addition to being state-of-the art technologically,, the JawFixers staff pleasantly puts you at ease and are more than capable and efficient. Alyssa gently removed my stitches following my extraction and she, like everyone else I’ve met there, was very pleasant. My next step with JawFixers is a dental implant and I have no qualms it will go smoothly. Again, a shout out to Drs. Ansari and Ricketson, and Alyssa, Natasha and Dena! You guys are great!

Stay away from this place, unless you’re looking for high-pressure sales tactics in a medical and dental setting. I was in severe wisdom tooth pain, and my general dentist’s office contacted Jawfixer in West Hartford only because they had the earliest available appointment. During my very first phone call, I asked for an estimate for the consultation and extraction and whether they accepted my insurance. The office staff did not answer my questions directly. Instead, she immediately suggested IV sedation for the extraction, which would cost $1,500. I politely declined the sedation, and she scheduled a same-day consultation and extraction with Dr. Michael Winter on 11/24/2025. However, on the day of the consultation and procedure, things became very uncomfortable. I learned during the consultation that Dr. Jeremiah Ricketson would be seeing me instead of Dr. Michael Winter, and no one informed or explained this change in advance. Since I was already there and the consultation itself seemed normal, I did not question it further at the time. After the consultation, an office staff member came in with a treatment plan, a detailed price breakdown, and consent forms while I was still sitting in the exam chair. She stood right next to me, making me feel rushed to review and sign the documents. When I noticed something didn’t seem right with the insurance portion, I asked to double-check it and requested time to speak with my family about what was happening. I then left the exam room and went to the front desk, where I was told it was not their responsibility to contact my insurance to clarify coverage. When I decided to call my insurance myself, the staff member’s attitude suddenly became cold and rude. She repeatedly rushed me, saying the doctors were already waiting and the procedure room had been set up, even though I had NOT yet agreed to the surgery. When I asked about the insurance discrepancy for the third time, she continued rushing me and said my appointment was about to run over and that the doctors were too busy to wait. I felt pressured in the same way customers are pressured at a car dealership, when pushed to agree and pay without clear answers. This experience was stressful, uncomfortable, and completely inappropriate for a medical setting. I ultimately walked away and had my extraction done at a different office that provided professional, transparent, and respectful care. Update (January 2026): I contacted the billing department to pay my balance, but their staff charged me the incorrect amount. As a result, they had to contact me again the following day to fix their mistake. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and among people that enjoyed where they worked. The front office staff was very pleasant and knew how to set the tone for the rest of the appointment. The doctors and nurses were very detailed in instructions, guidance and throughout. The doctor was very good and thorough. Great bedside/chairside manner.
