Updated 02/20/2026: I decided on getting the infected tooth extracted, instead of getting a root canal. The tooth was cracked in multiple places, and the tooth got another abscess, so I contacted Lewes Dental and they were able to schedule me an appointment given the abscess. Other oral surgeons did not have any appointments available until end March 30th. Dr Hughes removed the infected tooth today and I am doing very well. Thank you, Dr Hughes to you and your assistant for your compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness and doing a wonderful job. I truly appreciate all you did to make a dreaded tooth extraction a very good experience. I highly recommend Lewes Dental. February 2, 2026 I had an infected tooth, and I was very grateful that they were able to fit me in. I had excellent service, from my initial contact with Cara to her follow ups and my warm welcome when I arrived, to meeting with Dr Tananis giving extra time and attention to understand my issues and provide recommendation on best approach. Lori was extremely nice and provided very thorough xrays and exam and her wonderful personality made it a good experience. Thank you Virgina for navigating me through the end to end process and answering questions. Everyone was extremely helpful, professional, kind and made me feel welcome. From the moment I walked through the door, Lewes Dental was friendly, welcoming, and inviting. The entire experience was top-notch from start to finish. Dawn, the office manager, was incredible—so kind, organized, and genuinely caring. My hygienist, Lori, was beyond wonderful and made me feel completely comfortable the entire visit. Dr. Tananis is fantastic. He took the time to explain everything clearly and offered better suggestions than I’ve ever received from any dentist. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and their long-term dental health. This practice is state-of-the-art, professional, and just an all-around amazing place. I can’t recommend Lewes Dental enough!
I had my first visit at lewes dental. I was very impressed. Cara at the front desk was top notch on informing me how to get all my information to her in order to be a new patient with them before I stepped in their doors. Lori my dental hygienist was great with getting all my updated x rays and so sweet during my 1st exam. The dentist was very thorough checking my teeth to make sure we had the correct cleaning scheduled for my next visit. Seeing a thorough team for my teeth is very important to me. I had a great and knowledgeable experience with DR. T as a new patient. The staff was wonderful and accommodating throughout the entire process. Specifically Lori and Virginia were very kind and comforting during my initial visit. I will definitely be switching to this office for all further dental needs.
