Our son is an out of state freshman at Mizzou and required an urgent appointment with a dentist for chipped front teeth. Being out of state I had no idea what dentist would see him much less quickly. This office accommodated my son quickly and did a great job fixing his teeth. The relief I felt knowing they were taking good care of him is priceless. Thank you Miller Dental Associates for your kindness and good work.
I was referred by the Veterans Administration for a replacement upper denture. When I received the final product, it had excessive plastic from behind the front teeth sloping back to the end of the denture. When I asked why it was so thick, the dentist stated "that is so it doesn't get broken". After trying to eat a meal, the denture caused chunks of my cheek to be gouge out, causing severe pain. I called the office for an appointment on Monday. When I was in the chair I let the dentist know that the palette of the denture was extremely thick. Reluctantly the dentist ground the excessively thick palette. After 40 to 45 minutes of grinding, I had had enough and left. Whom ever made this denture showed no pride in their work. It seems they slapped it together got it out the door. The dentist accepted the shoddy work as acceptable. I do not recommend anyone using this dental practice for dentures.
I went that do the regular cleaning. But got a surprise bill that tell my cleaning is out-of-pocket treatment and not pay by my insurance. They did not discuss this with me when I was in the dental office. Just give an update 1 years later, I changed to another dentist office, cleaning is totally covered by the insurance, and my tooth is very healthy and not as the Miller told me before. The Miller just stated my tooth was dirty and tried to make my cleaning not eligible to covered by the insurance. This is really hurt my insurance benefits. 0 start for this office.
My family and I have seen Dr. Webb Rooney for over 16 years. I have nothing but great things to say about his staff and the care I have received. I had a lot of dental work over my lifetime, and he by far is my favorite dentist! The staff is very professional and the dental work is excellent. One reason I hesitate to move from Columbia is because I can’t imagine finding another dentist I like as well as Dr. Rooney.
Honesty. This is the one word that resonated with me after my appointment yesterday. Trusting your dentist is important, and I have found mine. For several years, I have utilized the services of another "reputable" dentist paying high premiums because of their reputation. Recently, I was told I needed a root canal based on x-rays. I wanted a second opinion and I visited Miller Dental based on a recommendation from a friend. The front desk staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. This makes a new visit very comfortable. Dr Rooney was outstanding, personable, detail oriented and honest. He mentioned that it was inconclusive that I may need a root canal based on the two dimensional nature of an X-ray. Long story short, because of his candor and expertise, I only needed a filling. This literally saved me thousands of dollars because Dr Rooney was thorough and cared for his patient. Go to a dentist that actually takes the time to review each situation individually instead of giving the cookie cutter, most expensive fix-it-all treatment. If you are new to Columbia or looking for a new dentist, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. Trusting your dentist is important and these guys are totally brilliant.
