Omgosh, I had the best experience at NV Oral & Facial Surgery! I had 4 teeth extracted yesterday and this morning I feel great! No swelling, no pain. Let me say that Dr. Johnson and his staff are the best! Dr. Johnson is so kind and gentle and explained everything thoroughly and totally put me at ease. And let's not forget Madrine. She is sooo sweet and positive and made me feel very comfortable thru the whole ordeal. Makes me want to go back there for more extractions...Just kidding! I came to Dr. Johnson after dealing with TMJ pain for a long time. I clench my jaw constantly and grind my teeth at night, which caused ongoing jaw pain and frequent headaches. I had been using Botox to manage the pain, but once it wore off the pain would return, and I also didn’t like how it affected my smile. I wanted a more long-term solution, so I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Johnson. From the moment I walked in, the office felt clean, professional, and welcoming. The front desk staff was very kind, and Derrick took my X-ray and walked me through the initial steps. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in understanding the pain I was experiencing. Dr. Johnson then came in and took the time to really listen to my symptoms and concerns, which immediately put me at ease. I had been wearing a nightguard from my dentist to protect my teeth, but it didn’t help with the pain since I was still clenching. Dr. Johnson explained why that was happening and recommended a TMJ splint instead. He explained how it works by positioning the jaw slightly differently during sleep to reduce clenching. He also suggested laser therapy as a non-surgical, low-risk option to help relieve pain. He thoroughly explained the process, expected timeline, and answered every question I had, including ones I didn’t even know to ask. I never felt rushed or pressured, and I left the consultation feeling very hopeful. I was fitted for the TMJ splint and picked it up within a week. I wore it for two weeks before my laser treatment and continue to wear it now. It’s noticeably less bulky than my old nightguard and has already helped reduce grinding. When I came in for the laser treatment, Cassidy guided me through the process and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The procedure itself was completely painless, no anesthesia or numbing needed. Dr. Johnson used the laser on my jaw, temples, and neck, and the whole process was quick and easy. It’s only been four days since the treatment, and I already notice a reduction in my pain levels. I’m excited to see how things continue to improve over the next few weeks. Throughout this entire experience, I felt truly cared for and confident that my TMJ issues were being addressed thoroughly and thoughtfully. I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Johnson and the team at Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery and would absolutely recommend them to anyone struggling with TMJ pain!
We had a great experience with Nevada Oral Facial Surgery. Dr. Hunter and his staff were amazing. They treated my daughter with great care and were there to answer any questions we had. Derrick was especially helpful with our pre surgical consult. The day of the surgery, Dr. Hunter was quick to put my daughter at ease. His staff sent us home with detailed care information and called us later that day to check in on us. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hunter to my family and friends.
Dr Mismas referred me here as she wanted me to have the best cost effective option so I can eat right. Olivia checked me in, she was very pleasant and professional. Isabelle went over my treatment plans, she was nice. Dr Hunter had an awesome bedside manner, very easy to talk to, went over all my treatment options. Karmyn helped me with financing options, she was awesome! It was a very pleasant consultation.
