I just moved into the area and was hesitant because I loved my old dentist. I was pleasantly surprised that everything about this practice exceeded my expectations- the ease of scheduling, the personable professionalism of the staff. Dr Safford was exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. HIs care was attentive and gentle. A problem that might have required multiple visits elsewhere was taken care of at once. I cannot say enough about my experience.
I feel confident that I am being well cared for at Newport Family and Cosmetic Dentristry. I highly recommend their one-day crown procedure. Amazing! Front desk is always helpful and pleasant, and Paula and Lisa are two dental hygienists who have cleaned my teeth, both great!
The two doctors who took care of my lower right side tooth that was higher than normal after a fall I had a few months before. It was amazing how gentle and quick to make it totally better. I couldn't imagine anyone else who could do such a great job. BRAVO
Be sure to call and find out price for your visit. No notification was given that they are now 'out of network' with my insurance company until check out so a routine visit had big charges at the end. They should have mentioned what the charges would be upfront for cleaning, X-rays, and exam and whether I wanted to proceed with them that day. Also, it would be nice to provide a price sheet to the customer when they request one at check out, especially in light of changes to their policy.
I'm so sad to have to write this review! The staff at Newport Family and Costmetic Dentistry are great and I have had excellent experiences with them. However, after my most recent cleaning last month, I was hit with a $160 bill after learning that they are no longer in network with my insurance. I was not notified of this and have had a frustrating experience trying to work on this with the billing department (not returning calls, etc.). I would not have gone to this appointment if I had known that they no longer take my insurance. Disappointing experience for a practice that I have previously loved!
