It was a year after Hobie had been researching information about dental implant centers that he told me about his serious interest in pursuing this type of dental care. I listened and learned what he had been absorbing about the different options, time frames, companies, and financial commitments. The center that stood out amongst all others was Nuvia. Their explanations in the videos he watched were thorough and professional, friendly, and encouraging. I felt the same way and totally agreed that a consultation with Nuvia would/should be the next step. Phone calls were exchanged, the appointment was easily set up, and within a couple of weeks we were driving 2 hours north from Richmond to Alexandria. Hobie shared with me ... "In my mind, before I got to the office, I knew that if I felt uncomfortable with the people or they seemed to have an attitude I would have walked out." I know him well enough to know that was totally accurate. Yes, there wouldn't have been anything following a negative first impression. Hobie shared his feelings with me afterwards ... "It was hard to believe the friendly way we were greeted, making me feel so comfortable. I thought to myself - what a team that this company has put together, from the people at the front desk to every person in the treatment area, they made me feel so comfortable in all of it. They answered every question I had, they were more than willing to explain anything I asked about." There's no substitute for kindness! The day continued with exams, measurements, scans, and discussion. Hobie was a viable candidate for Nuvia implants. Finances were agreed upon and arranged, we were ready to move forward. Although we had left Nuvia that day totally satisfied, relieved, and excited, nothing would have prepared us for the lovely, warm welcome, care, and continued expertise that awaited us a month later when we returned for Hobie's procedure, including the phone call from his doctor over the weekend to calmly review what the next day would entail, and go over any last questions we had. The day was big, the anxieties were real and the outcome was nothing short of wonderful. Sure, all the post-op expectations of swelling, discoloration, and pain were real, but manageable. He willingly dealt with the food limitations and it was a shorter time than the 4-month expectation when he felt comfortable with celery sticks or other foods that we had been cautioned to wait on. So many times in these past 4 months he had said "I can't believe how great they feel, they're perfect. My only regret is not having done this so much sooner." Hobie smiles so much more and it's a beautiful smile with beautiful teeth. I guess this brings us to our 4-month visit this past Monday when everything turned out just great. There's so much more we could say but only to reinforce every positive that we have experienced with Nuvia and their Super Staff. We look forward to Hobie's next visit, a year from now, hoping we see all our new-found 'friends'. Our deepest thank you and respect.
