The BEST experience. I could not be more blown away by how professional and understanding this staff was about my ANXIETY!! It's a serious problem for me. Sweaty, nervous, scared and not feeling supportive is the feeling I got last visit AT A Different location/ Specialist. I will be recommending ANYONE I hear about there dentist experience.. THE BEST Customer service from front to back. Thank you to my Dentist and his right hand women. Now she was phenomenal. They best. Thank you all .
Over a year ago, I was referred to Dr. Nygaard for a dental implant replacement, as I was losing bone around the original implant and gum was receding. Dr. Nygaard and her team performed a bone graft, as well as a couple of gum grafts. I was told prior to the placement of the replacement implant, the gum tissue was great and bone adhered well and was more than adequate for the implant. After the final procedure of placing the new implant I immediately noticed my missing papilla on one side of the new implant. There's a large black visible void on one side and a small void on the other. Now food is getting stuck on the side of and behind this new implant. I'm completely disappointed, and some of Dr. Nygaard's responses left me feeling regret for choosing her to perform these services. When I was first inspecting the final results in a handheld mirror, she stated, "Adam, no one is going to look at your teeth that closely". After expressing my concerns over the gum ridge and dark void she further replied, "If you wanted perfection you should have went with a bridge". It felt like my candor escalated the Dr. and she was insulted as she did not accept responsibility for my concerns and insisted that she fixed the problem. I acknowledge that the bone graft resulted in additional bone material around the implant. However my gums are worse than before! In addition, she used (without my consent or knowledge) an instrument to remove healthy gum tissue around other adjacent teeth and this is now sensitive to cold and brushing. I would have not approved for her to remove healthy gum tissue. It seems as if this method was to help match the implant gum line, in which gum tissue was not properly preserved through the procedures. During the process of placing my original implant (over 20 years ago), great care was taken to preserve the gum ridge. This time around, I chose a periodontist - a gum specialist, thinking this same care would be taken. I was wrong. The entire experience feels like a waste of time (and a wasted $13k). I now have new issues dealing with a large void in my gum tissue that collects food. I would not recommend hiring Dr. Nygaard for dental implants or gum tissue grafting.
I have been a patient of Dr. Nygaard for several years. She and her staff have served me with the most excellent, professional and top drawer care one could ever expect. My every experience with Dr. Nygaard and her staff are unmatched when compared with other dental care facilities. I highly recommend Dr. Nygaard to anyone seeking the highest quality periodontal care.
Dr. Poovey is an EXCELLENT periodontist. I’ve had three separate gum grafts from him and every time he’s been consistently calming, knowledgeable, and welcoming. He’s not just good at what he does, but you can genuinely tell he enjoys it too. I also love how he teaches the hygienists during the procedure. He’s efficient while also explaining how and why he does things in a certain way. I trust his work completely and would recommend these experts to anyone! Also shout out to Kristi for being the kindest helper, keeping me grounded during a not-so-fun procedure. 😅
I have been receiving periodontal care from Dr Nygaard for four years. During that time I have had three gum grafts, three extractions and three implants. I have also received laser treatments from Dr Poovey. The care I have received has always been top-notch. Both these practitioners are highly skilled, deeply compassionate and produce outstanding results. I can’t say enough about them. They take the greatest care to insure I feel little to no pain both during my procedures and in my recovery time afterwards. They check in by phone the day after my surgeries to see how I’m doing. I have never had the slightest trouble down the road with any of their work. Residents of Spokane and beyond are extremely fortunate to have practitioners of this caliber providing care in our area.
