I have gone to Oakes Family Dentistry since moving here 16 years ago. The staff are great. From Jo at the front desk to Rachel the hygienist. Dr Oakes understands my dentist phobia and always works with me on that. He is very good at explaining what we need to do. I highly recommend Oakes Family Dentistry.
I looked all over the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area and couldn't find any skilled/reasonably competent practitioners. They all used outdated and poor quality equipment. I was assigned this place randomly by insurance provider. They are polite, skilled, honest, have modern equipment, & when I was referred to a surgeon he was the most knowledgeable USA Dr. I have ever met. I was planning on going to a civilized country to get work done but I'm happy with this service.

I had an appointment to do detailed teeth cleaning because of not flossing as often as I needed. Procedure was painless and I’m glad it’s done now. Will definitely take care of my teeth much better. Thank you, Oakes dentistry.
To begin, I have been bringing my child here for about one year. And at first everything was fine ,until about a day ago when I had a cleaning for my child. After the cleaning was done ,the dentist failed to notify me of what the treatment plan was . Moreover, the receptionist FAILED to open the patient's chart, resulting in me not scheduling an appointment for my child who needs a filling.When asked ,the receptionist said " she forgot to open the file." To add, the receptionist also stated " the dentist won't numb certain teeth for surface fillings!" I have never heard of a dentist NOT numbing a tooth anytime there was dental work being performed. During my call with the receptionist, I kept asking as to why and she then hung up on me . This act was very unprofessional and I will be looking for a new dental practice for my child. To where people actually care about their patients.
