I went in last month (Feb 2026) for a new patient consultation regarding the surgical extraction of a badly broken upper molar. He explained the procedure as cutting along the inside of the gum line of tooth 2,3 & 4 just to remove the #3 tooth. I asked why such a long incision was necessary for only one tooth and basically it was just how he did things. I asked what kind of injection he would be using to numb the area, he said he would be using General Anesthesia and informed me I would need someone to drive me home. I said I did not want to be put under and I would be good with laughing gas or numbing injections. After the consultation ended he said an assistant would be in shortly with the Estimate. A few minutes later she came in with the estimate at just under $3,000 with over $1,000 for General Anesthesia alone! This did not feel like a collaboration regarding my treatment plan and I was clearly not on board with paying so much so I ended up going with a different Dentist (not an oral surgeon) who removed the tooth without any incisions. He added my own blood plasma (L-prf) to the area the tooth came out of to aid in bone regrowth and used only numbing injections. Everything went smoothly and the total price was $460.
This is your sign to go to Dr Oakley if you have any oral surgery needs. As so many other reviews have said, absolutely a 5-star service and staff (i'd give six stars if i could!). Julie, Cherron, Amanda and the ENTIRE staff are incredibly kind, prompt, efficient, and help make sure you have as smooth of an experience as possible. If you have any nerves or concerns, they work with you to make sure you have 100% confidence in the process, the treatment, and the timeline - no matter how long the conversation takes. Dr. Oakley took the time to sit and field a multitude of my questions - both about dental implants and beyond, and I left with great advice, knowledge, and confidence in my surgical team. Truly cannot say enough good things about this team. It is rare to find a team that cares as much as Dr. Oakley's does about their patients!!
The staff was nice and friendly — only to counterbalance what an arrogant abrasive person the doctor is. The worst “bedside manner” I’ve received from a medical “professional” in my 64 years. Instead, I went to KC Dental Implants where I received top notch service from genuinely nice professional folks who actually care about their patients. It was a completely different experience clear across the board; price, timeliness, attitude, facility, education and communication. I wouldn’t hire Richard Oakley to scrub my toilet.
Great customer service. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff. Dr Oakley efficient and effective. And, provided all time I needed to make me feel comfortable with upcoming procedure.
They were very kind to my elderly father. They even allowed us to leave in back door making it easier for for my dad to get to his vehicle. Wonderful staff.
