I have been going to Oak Park Dental for about 15 years. I have always disliked going to the dentist. My first visit was pretty good. DR McCain was really great made me feel comfortable. My hygienist Jolene is really good. She knows how much I dislike the dentist. My last visit I had a small cavity and Dr McCain thought he could do it right away, however the schedule would not allow for it. when Jolene asked if she wanted me to schedule I said yes, they had a cancellation for the same day. However I had to come back about 11/2 hour later, not a big deal I ran some errands on that side of town went back for the appointment after a 5 minute wait I was in the chair, DR McCain came in got me numb and 15 minutes later I was walking out cavity filled done for another 6 months All the staff is really nice, they treat you like a person not just a number. I still dislike going to the dentist but I know Jolene and DR McCain make me feel comfortable and they explain what is going on so it isn't a bad experience. They take an interest in you as a person.
I spent about 4 minutes in the waiting room before I was ushered to a room. From there, the hygienist explained the visit, and asked if I had any questions. She was very friendly and asked how I was doing. Dr McCan came in and was VERY friendly. He made small talk and didn't rush into work - I didn't feel like I was just a number and he couldn't wait to get on to the next patient. He explained thoroughly what he found on the X-rays and how to proceed. There was NO pressure to go in any direction - I felt like he gave me the options, pros/cons, then let me make the decision. Overall great experience. On a side note... a few years ago, we took our 11 y.o. grandson in for a routine check-up, and he was scared to death (he had VERY bad experiences with past dentists). Dr McCan felt he should stop the exam if our grandson was going through this much trauma. At home, we explained how things were going to go, not to be worried, and rescheduled. Our grandson even wrote an "I'm sorry" letter, and allowed for an exam (albeit he was pretty nervous). After the exam, we asked how it went, and he was upbeat and happy to work with Dr McCan. Now, he goes in by himself with absolutely ZERO worries. Dr McCan had the best bedside manners to easy our little guy's worries.
I have always been anxious to visit a dentist. I have been a patient for over 10 years at Oak Park and over the years that have built great trust and rapport with me. It is a friendly atmosphere and although I may be biased, Kristin, my hygienist is the most amazing I’ve ever had! They make you feel welcome and comfortable. I would recommend to anyone!
Great customer service! I chipped a tooth and they were able to get me in right away and fix it up! Always happy with my experience at Oak Park Dental as everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
My family and I have gone to Oak Park Dental for years for.our dental services. They are courteous, friendly, and take the time to answer all of our questions. They have done well to help our children feel as comfortable as possible and have shown patience and compassion in providing the specialized care they need. They work collaboratively with other area providers such as pediatric dentistry, orthodontists, and oral surgeons, providing referrals as appropriate.
