I just have to rave about my experience yesterday—Dr. Owen and his entire staff are truly amazing. Let me start by saying this: I am absolutely terrified of anything dental-related. Not just nervous—full-on anxiety. I tend to avoid the dentist until I’m in serious pain, and unfortunately, that was the case this time. Checking in was quick and easy, though the front area was pretty warm, which didn’t help my anxiety. But once I got to the back, things got a whole lot better. The imaging machine they used was incredible—no gagging, no mouth cuts, no uncomfortable plastic things jammed in your mouth. It just rotated around me. Honestly, that was already a win in my book. From there, I was sent to the consult room—super smooth process. Then I went to pay for my services and got taken back to the exam room. That’s when I met Katy and Candis, I told her about my previous dental horror stories and why I was feeling so anxious. She listened, reassured me, and explained every single step of what was going to happen. What I appreciated the most was that there was no long wait in the room. That alone helped keep my anxiety in check. I was worried about being dehydrated and them struggling to find a vein, but the doctor got the IV in without a problem. Another dental assistant came in to help distract me and talk me through it, and before I knew it, I had oxygen on and was waking up post-surgery. Before the procedure, Dr. Owen even asked if I’d like him to say a prayer. I’m not usually very religious, but that meant so much to me. It truly helped calm my nerves. After the surgery, they offered me sherbet or ice cream (I obviously chose sherbet), and let me tell you—it was delicious. Thank you !
I have gone to Dr. Owen twice and both times were extremely excellent. The personal care you receive starts at the very second you walk in. The procedure went amazingly and I was comforted through the entire process. I was called the day after the procedure by Dr. Owen himself. You don’t usually receive such personal care from most anywhere else. I highly recommend his clinic to anyone for any oral surgery.
Dr. Owen and his staff were amazing. I flew in from KC to have my surgery on my wisdom teeth. They were fabulous at coordinating with me. When I arrived on the day of surgery, I was extremely nervous, as I’d never had a surgery or anesthesia before. The consultation before made me feel comfortable with what I was to expect, the nurses explained everything they were doing, and Dr. Owen did great with my small veins and the needle insertion for my anesthesia. I hardly even noticed it and he talked to me to keep me calm the whole time. I’m so glad I flew home to have my surgery done here. I’m not fully recovered yet but Dr. Owen, his staff, and the surgery have exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend!
Owen Oral & Implant Surgery is the ONLY place I would recommend for surgeries and implants especially if you have anxiety. I was having a full blown anxiety attack in the parking lot before hand just because of my past experiences with dental procedures. The staff and Dr Owen treated my fiancée and I with the utmost respect. They listened to everything I had to say, all of my concerns and were so so patient with me. Words really don't describe how wonderful of an experience it was for me. A ++ !
