Rachel Oates Family Dental is truly the best dentist office there is! The front desk staff is always smiling to greet you. My hygienist, Terri, is super sweet and takes the time to explain what she’s doing. The doctors are all great, but Rachel is just an amazing dentist who is not interested in making as much money as she can, but truly cares about her patients. I can’t say enough good things about this practice.

Dr. Oates and her team are hands down THE BEST in middle Tennessee!! Several years ago my dentist (who my family & I loved) was retiring. I printed her a list of all the Dentists that my insurance took- looking for her recommendation. Out of SEVERAL pages of options, Dr. Oates was literally the ONLY Dentist she recommended! I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly happy my entire family has been with this office! From the moment you walk in, you are treated with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Dr. Oates takes plenty of time explaining everything & puts you immediately at ease. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for. They NEVER pressure you to have a procedure done until you are either ready, or if it is truly "time," she will let you know. Quick example: I am finishing up healing from a pretty significant illness. Dr. Oates has been monitoring a couple of areas that will need a Crown at some point. Today she looked at them and told me we still have time and your body has been through enough this year... let's check back in another six months and give your body a chance to heal! I mean!!! Come on! No pressure, just honest conversations about what is best for ME, not their practice! The work Dr. Oates has already performed either on my Husband or myself has been exceptional and problem/pain free. She is an incredibly competent and caring Dentist. One more thing I have to say on the caring, compassionate side. When I told my Hygienist (Baylee - SUCH a caring sweetheart!) I was "sick," within a few days I received a card from the office sending me genuine prayers, loving words etc... it wasn't "a" note from Dr. Oates and team..it was a card that EVERY person in the office signed and took the time to write something thoughtful and caring. Never had THAT before!! I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Oates, her Hygienist's and her entire team. A truly exceptional group of individuals who will not only take phenomenal care of your dental needs, but ensure your experience from the moment you walk in the door is the Best of the Best! Thank you ALL for taking such great care of my family for the last 7 years! We are so very lucky to have you!!

I never like giving a poor review but our experience should be a lesson of caution. My husband and I were both patients at this practice before relocating out of state. We received a quote for work that was being recommended for my husband that outlined what would be covered by insurance. In the end, it was not accurate and when we received a bill much higher than expected. We contacted the office to discuss the discrepancy in what was quoted and what was billed. Over a period of a year, we have tried to resolve the situation but most of our attempts to speak with the office has been unsuccessful. They are no longer returning our calls and have turned us over for collection to an independent collection agency. Our prefect credit score is at risk but it goes beyond the amount they are billing us for. It’s a matter of principle. Ignoring my husband’s calls is unprofessional and we feel we have been wronged. What good is a quote for dental work if they refuse to honor it. Their business practices are unethical.
