Powered by GoogleI hope this reaches someone with compassion, understanding and empathy. I deserve to be heard, truth is I’m terrified to talk about this, terrified of being rejected, of having to see or hear from that man or their office. I want it to be over, but this adds to a trauma that will burden be for many years if not the rest of my life. I don't want to write a paper about this so I will keep it short. I will say that I have a split tongue, it's cosmetic. I let the staff know about this so it wouldn't concern them. During my exam Dr. Reynolds stuck his finger between my tongue, for no other reason than to see what it felt like to be between a tongue. It was VERY inappropriate and didn't think it was necessary to ask for my consent. My answer would have been a very hard NO! My body is not a toy for men to play with. Dr. Reynolds has demonstrated that he believes he has entitlement to other peoples bodies. Having your fingers in my mouth to exam my teeth doesn't give you the right to entertain yourself with my body parts. He also kept trying to touch my arms, for no reason what so ever, he just kept reaching out to touch me. It was creepy. I "wiped off" his first touch in hopes that would get the message across, but he went to the other side and touched my other arm. My body not yours! My piercings and other body modifications are not your toys. I gave no consent to be touched by Dr. Reynolds other than what was necessary for my exam. Now I have to live with another memory of a man touching me in multiple ways without my consent, because court cases don't take stuff like this seriously, and there are even women out there that let men do this to girls and women and look the other way. This is one of my few options at healing from this experience. To be heard is monumental. Why didn't I speak out during the time? Delayed reaction is a trauma response. I didn't want to believe it was happening to me again. This happens to girls and women and even boys and men, and they don't want to believe it's happening, but it hits later, sometimes later in life. Don't belittle someone because they don't say something at the time it happens. Be compassionate towards victims of sexual assault and harassment. This is a call for action to everyone, to always speak out when you are touched consensually by someone. No one has the right to touch you or play with your body parts without your permission. Neither a doctor, a dentist, or the president. You are not in the wrong for processing the experience later on. Don't be afraid to speak up. Because of this experience, I had to leave this office because I can't stand seeing that disgusting man again. If it was so easy for him to touch me without my permission, I guarantee he's done that to other people. Speak out, change dentists. Set better standards of behaviors for men. This man stuck his finger between my split tongue without my permission to see how it felt. 100% creep. NEVER did I give him permission or non-verbal signals of any kind that I would be okay with that. Stand up, fight back. I stand with all victims of sexual assault and harassment. The female staff I encountered were respectful especially the woman who cleaned my teeth. Thank you for being decent human beings and respecting my bodily autonomy.
The last time I went in was a couple years ago. Previously I was on suboxone for opiate treatment, and suboxone causes tooth decay and gingevitis. I had never had cavities or receeding gums until I took suboxone. I had been taking it for about 5 months and then it started causing my gums to receed, bleed, and the roots of my upper right teeth to start hurting as well as a couple cavities. I explained that to doctor reynolds when I came in. I also explained that I previously had my right canine pulled down with a gold chain when I had braces 8 years prior) and that the orthodonist said if I don't continuously wear my retainer then the roots of the surrounding teeth may revert back and push my canine out. I expressed my concerns, but he was so adamant about me not taking care of my teeth being the cause for the gingivitis. He lacked any knowledge about suboxone, and any sensitivity. He prescribed a mouthwash that was supposed to get rid of the gingivitis but I was still on suboxone, and taking the two in the same day made it sooo much worse but I had to take the suboxone or I would go through extreme withdrawals. I haven't been back and I'm doing everything I can to research other dentists that take OHP. He was actually chuckling and saying that the cause of my gingivitis is definitely from not flossing. When in reality, I was flossing, and taking care of my teeth very well. It's kind of like any other medication, it has side effects. Decaying teeth, gingivitis, and others.
Dr Michael Reynolds did a great job re-filling an old cavity, saved my tooth & it feels so much better. Staff has always done a great job with all my needs.
Absolutely amazed at how kind, generous, and caring the employees are here. I am thankful to have them as our dentist. (They are seeing my children as well.) I have severe anxiety due to provider messing up when I was about 6 years old. Just the thought of seeing a dentist puts me in panic mode. But Dr. Reynolds made me feel comfortable by assuring me that I was safe. The dental hygienist were also so incredibly kind and resourceful with information. 10/10 recommend. Only negative is having to wait for appointments, though I am sure that is every medical office here in southern Oregon. Either or, the staff is worth the wait.
I have never been treated with such unprofessionalism. Rusty was deffintanly rusty on how to treat a patient. She shoved the xray machine into my face. She acted as if she was the only tech that does what she does. Dr Reynolds was unprofessional. Do not go here. The office manager I want to say breanda was amazingand and personable and definitely made up for what rusty and Dr Reynolds lacked in professionalism. You have more choices to look around for someone that is more personable and more professional.
