I had an exam, cleaning and fillings done here on 1/22. At the time of service, I was told I had a copay for those fillings, which I knew did not sound accurate as I am covered 100%. When I questioned it, the office manager again told me that I had a responsibility to pay. At the time I did not know that they do not verify benefits for each person, and instead rely on information fed to them from their corporate office. This information was incorrect. I spoke to my insurance company and was reassured that I should not have paid. After expressing this to the office manager, she acknowledged their mistake and said that I would receive a refund. Two weeks later, that refund has not happened. Charging a patient for something that insurance covers is known as insurance fraud. This practice has now been reported for insurance fraud to OCI, NICB, the Board of Dentistry, and to my insurance company in the form of a grievance. Absolutely absurd that I as a patient should have to go behind the staff of this clinic to make sure that they are billing appropriately, then two weeks later have no resolution. Avoid at all cost. Update: although being told that my x-rays would NOT be charged due to my insurance provider not covering them more than once every 3 years, I just received a bill from Sage dental requiring payment for x-rays. I believe that they billed me out of retaliation for leaving this review and for filing complaints. In addition, they hide behind 'HIPAA' as an excuse to not take responsibility publicly when responding to reviews such as this.

it was my first visit and I was already very nervous coming bc of my fears. everyone was very warming to me very sweet and kind. they explained everything with me on what they recommend. the assistant Melanie is super sweet friendly and kind and very thoughtful as well. Dr Coronado is amazing and gentle explained everything very well and made sure I understand and was comfortable.

All of the staff at Sage Dental Gainesville were absolutely fantastic—from the moment you walk in and are greeted by Christin at the front desk. Jo and Araceli were amazing when they took my X-rays. I’ve always disliked having X-rays done, but they took their time and made sure I was completely comfortable. Dr. Coronado explained in great detail the differences between implants and bridges, which really helped me make an informed decision. And last but certainly not least—the star of the show—my hygienist Bertha! Her in-depth knowledge, willingness to educate, and unbelievable attention to detail during my deep cleaning were unmatched. Moving forward, Bertha will always be my hygienist, and whatever work she recommends, I’ll schedule without hesitation.
