I would like to highly recommend Dr. William Lacey and his dental practice. I am a retired dentist who practiced in New York City for 45 years and feel very qualified to judge a fine dentist with excellent experience, great skills, up to the minute knowledge and great (gentle) "people skills". When my wife had an emergency, he got her in promptly and took great care of her challenging problem.... I am only a part-time resident in Mancos and Dr. Lacey saved our vacation! His immaculate, beautiful office and competent staff put the icing on the cake! Quality work at very fair fees, I highly recommend his Dental Practice without reservation.
After getting fillings here, I will NEVER be coming back. The 2nd star is for the very great hygienist who cleaned my teeth my first appointment, and it was great. When I went back for a follow up however it was horrible. The dentist didn't tell me a single thing he was doing before he did it or why he was doing it. Getting a shot in your mouth to numb it should be something you are alerted of beforehand and told why. SAME THING WITH GRINDING SOMEONES TEETH. I literally had no experience with fillings and had no idea what was going on until AFTER he was out of my mouth so I could actually ask a question. He was also seeing multiple patients at once and left for about 30 minutes without telling me what was going on at all. Honestly, I left there and cried. It was very stressful. I would ask your close friends for a dentist they love and go there instead, unless it is here. If being told what your dentist is doing and why is important to you, make sure to tell them that before they make you open wide. Or find one who does that automatically. Unfortunately, I did not. Lesson learned. {UPDATE: Now they are claiming I was never a patient there. Apparently, they are having trouble holding onto those pesky record documents. I have my own and have attached them below. I wouldn't be so mad if they took responsibility and didn't strive to funnel only positive reviews to their bussiness. Instead, they aim to silence, and I think that is a big red flag.}
Exceptional and friendly office. Staff get on well together--a good sign. Procedures are explained throughtout, comfort level is consistently checked, professionalism is top-notch. Very new, clean office. Dani is fantastic. Dr. Lacey really knows his stuff. Overall, just an excellent dental experience!
I was so happy with San Juan Smiles. Dr Lacy was amazing. It's nice to actually have the doctor examine my teeth and gums for any issues. Places I've been, the doctor did not come in to the room. My hygienist was very nice and great at her job. All the staff was super friendly.
The hygienist was a child whisperer! She worked total magic on my 4 & 6 year olds, making the experience not just comfortable and safe, but fun! They were both laughing and excited. When we got home, they played "dentist" all night. The dentist was patient and thorough and provided advice on treatment for potential issues that he noted in the exam. I'd highly recommend this dentist office for children and adults.
