About the Practice
At Southwest Oral Surgical Arts (SWOSA), we are leaders in dental implant technology, wisdom teeth removal, and the full spectrum of oral and facial surgery, ranging from tooth extractions to corrective jaw surgery to facial reconstructive surgery for facial trauma and pathology. As the largest oral surgery and periodontal practice in Southern Utah, we are among the only dental and maxillofacial specialists qualified to administer deep sedation/general anesthesia. We are credentialed at St. George Regional Hospital where we provide oral surgery call coverage for the emergency room and facial trauma care for the trauma center. Although we perform most of our surgeries in state of the art operatories in our offices, we also operate at St. George Regional Hospital as necessary to accommodate patients with complex medical and surgical considerations. We also operate at Coral Desert Surgical Center. Our assistants are DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Exam) Certified, which means they meet national standards in training and testing set forth by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. This certification ensures that our assistants are qualified to provide supportive anesthesia care in a safe and effective manner. Who knew going to an oral surgeon could be so pleasant. Dr. John Mizukawa and his staff are first rate. His office is so thoughtful and accommodating. Check this out.... Dr. Mizukawa called me personally the evening after my surgery to ask how I was doing. We were on the phone for about 6 mins. He was unrushed and behaved as though he had all the time in the world even though I imagine he must be very busy. Then imagine my surprise the next day when his nurse called me to also check on how I was doing. Who does this???? Dr. Mizukawa and his staff. He made what could have been a daunting surgery a piece of cake. I have been telling everyone about how kind they were to me. It's such a relief to know their is a doctor who exhibits old school bed side manner in the way of kindness and concern. Thank you to Dr. Mizukawa and his amazing staff for a pleasant experience. Kudos!
I was pleasantly surprised with my consultation yesterday with Dr. John and his team. They were all so professional and accommodating, they made me feel so at ease and comfortable, with their knowledge. Each of them were so compassionate and understanding of me, in their own field of expertise. Dr. John Mizukawa was so knowledgeable, gentle and thorough on my oral exam. He was also so nice and compassionate as he explained things to me in his very clean office, which I appreciated. Dr. John made me feel calm as he explained things to me in his calm voice.
I absolutely loved the doctors here. This is the third implant they’ve done for me. Everyone was kind and caring. They were also very talented in their professions. I would give everyone there 5 gold stars and more I could. They are the best oral surgeons in all of Southern Utah. My son, who is a pediatric dentist, tells me the same thing. I would never consider anyone else. My previously finished teeth are amazing.
My husband and myself had a conciltation today to set what needs to be done. Everyone was more than nice. I just have to decide which way to go. The doctor was extremely informative and very to the point what he recommended f or me. Could not have had a better experience. Thank you everyone.😃😬🤎🤞🤞
I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but I had to share how amazing this Doctor and office was. My daughter was in severe pain on a Saturday, and they came in on their day off to help her. The dentist and his team were kind, professional, and got her comfortable (she had to be put to sleep for the procedure) and pain-free quickly. She was feeling so much better that same night. We’re self-pay, and the cost was very affordable. I’m beyond grateful for their compassion and quick care, they truly saved the day!
