Widner & Alford Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a full scope oral surgery practice specializing in wisdom teeth removal and extractions, placement of single and multiple dental implants, diagnosis of TMJ and jaw related disorders. We are located in three convenient office locations in Austin, Lakeway and Bastrop to better serve our patients. We are a leading provider of the placement of dental implants in the Austin area, offering single and multiple implants and both metal and non-metal implants. Dr. Widner opened the practice in 1990 in Central Austin and since the practice has expanded to Lakeway and Bastrop, Texas. I never thought I’d be writing a 5-star review for a wisdom tooth removal, but here we are. This office, and their staff, is exceptional. I was referred here for a wisdom tooth extraction and I’m so glad I was! Their receptionist staff is super accommodating, and everyone there truly cares about your experience and ensuring you have exactly what you need. Dr. Widner is excellent at what he does. He was super thorough when helping me understand what to expect, and for the surgery day itself, I could tell I was in great hands. I genuinely had zero pain after the surgery and didn’t need anything beyond a few ibuprofen here and there for the swelling. Following his instructions, the healing has been on point with no complications or issues. I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about even if tried. If this office is an option for you, take it. You don’t find dentistry try out there that you feel so pleasantly surprised by that you decide to write a 5-star review!
Dr. Widner deserves more than five stars, but this is the most I can give him. I am 58 years old and have had hit-or-miss experiences with medical professionals over my life. So when I have a really positive experience, I like to give credit where credit is due. My dentist told me that I needed to have two teeth extracted and one implant. Ugh. I had a wisdom tooth extracted years ago and knew it was nothing to look forward to. So I did some research and located Dr. Widner, who had high marks. They are well deserved. I had three choices. A purely local anesthetic, or that plus laughing gas, or general anesthesia. I picked the last one and woke up with no pain. Dr. Widner uses a two-day pain reliever, and I never had any significant pain after the surgery. During the first two days, I took Advil a few times for minor discomfort. After the first two days, I did not have any pain to relieve. I never had any noticeable swelling or bruising. After a week, I was basically back to normal in terms of eating (except for chewing on one side). I hope I never need oral surgery again, but if I do I would for sure go back to Dr. Widner.
From start to finish, they were kind knowledgeable and patient. My husband went in for wisdom teeth extraction, he was in and out pretty quick. Also the dr came out and explain the procedure and what to expect for the after care I would recommend him to any and everyone. Hard to find this type of service with care you can tell they love what they do and we definitely didn't feel like you're just transaction. I will be coming back if needing any service here. My husband won't stop bragging about how well his Iv placement went he said better than an emergency room and he is an oral surgeon. I want to thank Dr. Widner and entire staffs for their exceptional services. My dental issue is considered complicated one. Dr. Widner gave me his best efforts to help me and give me his honest opinions about what he can do. I am grateful for he has done for me. The front staffs are very responsive about my questions; the nurse are also very caring and have great service during the surgery. Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Very professional from start to end. Appreciated Dr Widener walking through each proposed step and him and his staff answering ALL of my questions, and I had many. They took care during the examination and were just friendly too.
