Always a pleasure to visit Yamaguchi Dentistry for dental work. Intake staff is cordial and efficient. Dr Yamaguchi is a great dentist. This week I had my cleaning done by Christa (a new member of the Yamaguchi team). She does excellent work, is polite, shares dental insights and observations relative to dental cleaning, and very professional. Al in all, I couldn't ask for a better dental team. -- Dr. J.A. Knold

I came to this office primarily to complete a crown following an implant that had already been placed by an oral surgeon. During my initial visit, I was advised that multiple additional crowns were urgently needed, even though these same teeth had been on a long-term “watch” status with prior dentists. When I asked for clarification about differences in urgency among the recommended treatments, the explanations were largely identical, and my questions were not well received. I was also uncomfortable with the pressure to proceed without discussing staging or alternative approaches. I did not feel that I was being given meaningful input or control over decisions about my own treatment. I ultimately chose to seek a second opinion with another dentist. After evaluation, those same teeth were placed back on watch status rather than requiring immediate crowns. The office was clear about its treatment philosophy, which may work well for some patients, but those who value collaborative decision-making, detailed discussion, and patient involvement in treatment choices may want to be aware of this before proceeding.

I’ve been going to Yamaguchi’s since 10/6/2006 when it was in the original building off Capitol Way in Olympia. I now go to the new building in Tumwater and now see Dr. Garrett, a second generation dentist, at Yamaguchi’s! That in itself says it all! The new building is beautiful and top notch! The staff is always kind and very thorough! They do it all there and it’s affordable!
